Dorothy Law Nolte

It is summer and to cool down, most of us love to go swimming on the beach or in our pool. If you plan to have swimming, make sure you watch your children. They are vulnerable to drowning. Just today's news, another incident where a lil child drowned in their pool. Summer is fun if we are careful. It was really sad! I hope parents are careful!
Anyway, here is an inspiring poem that I would like to share to all of you by Dorothy Law Nolte. We should not forget that children are so precious. We should love them and we should make sure that they are safe and loved. Pictures below were taken at Museo Pambata, Philippines.

If a child lives with criticism,
he learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility,
he learns to fight.

If a child lives with fear,
he learns to be apprehensive.

If a child lives with pity,
he learns to feel sorry for himself.

If a child lives with ridicule,
he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with jealousy,
he learns what envy is.

If a child lives with shame,
he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with encouragement,
he learns to be confident.

If a child lives with tolerance,
he learns to be patient. If a child lives with praise,
he learns to be appreciative.

If a child lives with acceptance,
he learns to love.

If a child lives with approval,
he learns to like himself.

If a child lives with recognition,
he learns that it is good to have a goal.

If a child lives with sharing,
he learns about generosity. If a child lives with honesty and fairness,
he learns what truth and justice are.

If a child lives with security,
he learns to have faith in himself and in those about him.

If a child lives with friendliness,
he learns that the world is a nice place in which to live.

If you live with serenity,
your child will live with peace of mind.

Love your children and do not take them for granted.

Space X Falcon 9 Lift Off

Today, May 22 made a mark in the history in Cape Canaveral. The picture below is the successful rocket launch of the SPACE X's Falcon 9, the first private vessel heading to the International Space Station carrying food and supply for those currently in the ISS. The launch took place in Space Launch Complex-40 at Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. We were looking at the direction of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and listening on the radio too. The on-time lift-off occurred after a smooth countdown and we watched this beautiful rocket lift off. The picture below is where we always went to watch the shuttle lift off. This was taken in another time (April 17-Shuttle Discovery piggyback moment). We were at the boat dock along Indian River just across the Cape Canaveral area. The weather is nice. The Falcon 9 carried SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, embarking a historic flight to the ISS. This is a demonstration flight and Dragon is expected to do the on-orbit maneuvers, rendezvous capabilities and vehicle performance.Few people came here and mostly locals. The tiny building at the center of the picture below is a building in Kennedy Space Center- NASA and further right is the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.I am using my Blackberry phone and I only took two pictures. I hope this test will be a great success.

The Wonders of Telecommunication Cables

Life is so much easier with the wonders of technology right? We can communicate our dear love ones who reside in another country with just a push of button from our cellphone or laptop. We can talk to them in real time and not only that, we can see them in real time too. It is affordable and gone are those days when sending expensive telegram took days.

With the invention of Telecommunication Cable, it makes our daily activities fun and easy to perform. Our phone lines are our lifeline in communicating to our family, workplace and without it, transmitting what we need is hard. We are living in a world where we rely on technology and accessing information from where we are is so easy. Our gadgets such as the phones, iPad, and laptops are now a necessity for communication purposes as well as the source of information.

The wire and cable are types of guided transmission mediums. Cables are known to transmit electric energy but in telecommunications fields, cables are used to transmit electromagnetic waves known as electromagnetic wave guides. This fact plays vital because telecommunications are based on transmitting modulated waves through a medium. With this being said, we may not notice the micro products around us but, without them, our gadgets will not perform the way it should be without them.

Noise and Vibration Control

The new AC unit in the house is really noisy compared to the AC unit that we have in our condo property. I can tolerate this type of noise because the unit is located outside the house. We also have a sound control doors and windows. But sometimes, noise is really annoying and just a slight sound gets on my nerve! A sound is transmitted through vibrations into spaces where noise is not welcome at all. Places such as acoustic test enclosures, performance halls, rehearsal rooms, broadcast and recording studios are the places that require Vibration Isolation.

Big companies deal noise and vibration control by having sound absorbing wall barriers and noise enclosures. Other companies used sound control curtains which are inexpensive. We went to the house of a friend yesterday and we went inside his sound-proof family room. Budget wise, he said that he spent less considering the room is small but, the family loves to watch movies in that room. He got two teenagers who love strumming their guitars and play percussions. Having a sound proof room truly is wonderful to have. Neighbors will not be banging on their door for noisy activities in the house. Are you planning to have a noise and vibration control in the house or on your business place? Just visit the links above for more sensible information about their products.

My Visit in Luneta Park

When I was in Manila a year ago, I checked-in at the Bayview Park Hotel in Manila, Philippines. I like the location of this hotel because it is centralized to all the places that I needed to go to. It is also located at the front of the US Embassy in the Philippines. Besides, they have been so good to me so; I got my loyalty for this 4-star hotel. My flight going back home to Florida would be the next day so; I called my cousins to hang out with me in Luneta Park. This is the famous dancing fountain in Luneta Park.Luneta Park is a beautiful attraction in the country. I have been here many times and I appreciate it on every visit that I have had. The park has full of educational display and I bet parents are able to emphasized this great opportunity to have their children know their roots and history of the country. It was on a weekday of February so, there are excursions going on and the park is jam-packed with students from nearby regions.I would love to stay longer but, my nephew had tantrums to take the train rides. They do not take card for payments and I forgot to bring cash, my bad LOL. To make my lil nephew stop from whining, we went to a nice restaurant and fed him, LOL.Anyway, Luneta Park is a safe place to visit but, like many other places in the world, we need to be extra careful all the time. Avoid flashy jewelry and do not bring expensive stuffs that would trigger the bad elements to do something unlikely. Plan your visit at daytime and do not go to a secluded area. Watch out your purses, camera and cellphones....being extra careful is a normal thing so, do it. Some areas in Luneta Park do not encourage taking pictures. I cannot understand why though but, we should follow what's not because it is the policy of the park. Overall, I would recommend that you visit Luneta Park if you happen to be in the Philippines. A nice park to visit with your family and it's FREE.

Happy is a Happy Poodle

When my husband worked at 9 AM and mine is at 10 AM, problem arises because I don't drive yet. I told hubby that I will just walk since workplace is only two blocks away. Hubby don't like the idea so; he asked few of our friends to alternately pick me up for work.

Luckily, we are surrounded with good friends. Barbara is one of the close friends that we have and she has a brown poodle named Happy. Oh she treats her as the youngest baby and Happy would wail when I tried to put leash on her. For Happy, leash would mean taking her away from mommy LOL.

Anyway, Happy is like a child, very clever, and funny too. She loves to play and when I am around she always like to kiss me which I am not a fan for. Barbara would tell he "NO" and she would be embarrassed. It happened when Barbara pick me up one time and Happy was with her. She sat nearby the armrest and keep looking at me and would sneak a kiss, LOL. I don't like her kissing me but, I thought that was funny. Barbara loves buying toys for her. Her area seemed like a Pets Aware Pet Shop and Pet Care. I miss them both. I miss playing ball with Happy. Oh, she would run and get the ball in a heartbeat.

The View of the Gulfcoast

On my day off, hubby and I would drive down highway 90 from Ocean Springs towards the Gulfport and just enjoy the view by the beach. The seashore stretched long miles with spectacular view. There was a mall in the Gulfport area and situated along US 90 so; when we are tired on the beach, we just go to the mall to cool down in Starbucks or went shopping. Some people went swimming, fishing on the Pier, having the jet ski and boating. Life along the Gulfcoast is pretty laid back and most of their activities are family oriented.
Sunsets and sunrise here is truly magnificent! A view worth watching for. Actually, I was so envious of those people living in those big houses with the perfect view of the Gulfcoast. Have a road trip and check out the area. This place is truly awesome!
