When I first quit my job to stay home with the kids I was bored out of my mind. I had a really hard time adjusting to not being in an office environment and I missed the adult interaction I used to get on a daily basis. Not only that, but I felt really bad no longer bringing in income for our small family. I recently went to the Internet and searched out Sneedville hughesnet which I'm getting at the house next week. I'm going to look for ways to make some extra money while still staying home with the kids because I need something to make me feel like my mind is turning to mush. I know it sounds silly but I'm not really cut out were sitting at home all day watching talk shows and doing load after load of laundry. I know some women really love this lifestyle but for me it's more torture than it is a pleasure. I love my kids but I'm dying to send them to daycare!

Our Rental Property: Efficiency Room

Hello everyone! How was your Chinese New Year celebration? I bet you have many leftover "tikoy" / rice cake in there, would you give me some please? Oh well, mine was spent alright and the day ended with watching a movie using Netflix, nothing fancy (*v*).

Anyway, Hubby and I have been busy looking for a new house in Palm Bay Florida. We bid 6 properties already and so far, we were outbid by other buyers but, one seller accepted our offer. Right now, we are waiting for the response of the sellers bank and I am happy if we get this property because it is located nearby NASA and not in Palm Bay. Anyway, the pictures below are the inside look of our rental income property here in Orlando. It is an efficiency room and it is occupied by a single renter.I love this kitchen because it is white and full of storage, and I consider it big for this efficiency size room. The appliances are new and are included when we bought the property. This place is good for renters who are single or couple with no kids and are working too.
It has a good size bathroom with a bath tub. The door on the right side is the closet. Above the kitchen is an attic which the renter can use for storage.
The door below is the front door and there is a screened porch at the front facing the parking space. If the renter has visitors, she actually entertains them at the front porch. The AC in this property is only the window unit as shown in the picture above. This property is gated and walking distance to the bus stop, grocery stores, restaurants, gym and pharmacy. Our renter is a good tenant even though her rent payment was sometimes late. Now, we are waiting to own another property so we can move out from our condo and have it rented as well. Hoping that 2012 will be a good year for us especially in our rental business. Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

The Isle in Biloxi Mississippi

Hubby and I plan to visit Biloxi Mississippi next month for the Mardi Gras Parade in the D'Iberville and Ocean Springs. I have twitter friends who works at the ISLE Hotel and Casino who might give me a room discount. During the Mardi Gras season, all hotels in the area will be fully booked so, we are hoping to find and get a room at lower rate. I took all these pictures last September 201.We had a short vacation in Mississippi and we stayed in the ISLE hotel and Casino. Our room is located on the side facing the bridge which connects the Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Our room has a small balcony and this side of the hotel has the best view to watch the sunrise.There are private yachts and shrimp boats on the docks located around the vicinity of the Isle. The view of the Gulf Coast from our room at the ISLE.The majestic building of the ISLE hotel and casino in Biloxi Mississippi located in this address: 151 Beach Boulevard Biloxi, MS 39530. If you want to check out this hotel, call this #(228) 436-4753.The room with balcony at the ISLE Hotel and Casino. The room is alright and the bedding's are clean. Not really my favorite because the huge air conditioning unit of the hotel was below us and it was really noisy but, my consolation was the outdoor view of the bridge and the Gulf Coast.
I hope on February, we can book a more nicer room than this one. Oh, the ISLE has a WiFi which I'm so grateful compared to BEAU RIVAGE which has limited access, actually I do not have any access at all during our 3-days booking. A huge disappointments!

The Citrus Parade 2011: Fresh From Orlando Parade

Hello everyone, as promised for those who wanted to see the pictures of the Citrus Parade here in Orlando, sharing the pictures of the floats during the parade:The Capital One float...It really pays to come to the parade venue an hour early to find a good and cheaper parking space. For us, we found $5 parking space in the Central Avenue just two blocks away from the parade route area.
I heard from the news that Universal Orlando and some Disney parks closed for few hours for the over-flow of guests in Orlando. The last week of 2011 was a boom for business establishments in Florida especially here in Orlando, the venue for the championship of College Football.
Hubby and I found a good space near the Lake Eola Park but, we were surrounded by guests from other states. It was fun and exciting parade even though, we all wished to see more floats decorated with citrus.

As promised, here are the pictures that I took today during the parade.This is my favorite float and I admire the flower design, so artistic and beautiful.Was disappointed to see no oranges here...Hubby and I went to Downtown Orlando early because when there is a big activity in Orlando, the streets are terrible with traffic. Actually, an hour early is not bad because we were able to find a good parking lot for $5 and it's along Central Avenue. We found a good spot right along the Summerlin Street near the Lake Eola Park. It was shaded and not so crowded.

Economic Crisis is Everywhere

If you think there is hunger in your country, the US is no exemption. The US economy is in crisis and it is a common knowledge that right here, there are people who need help too. There are people who are applying for food stamps and when big companies are giving out free turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas, you will be amazed of the long lines of people happy to have the free stuffs. These people lost their jobs and struggling to make ends meet. There are families who lost their homes and all they have are each other living in a compact car. It is a wakeup call that since they rely on food stamps, of course they cannot afford to have a medical plan.

I heard about Ameriplan which is a discount medical and dental plan and an alternative to insurance. There was news a while ago that a dental clinic for the needy was jam packed with people who cannot afford to visit a doctor. Do not despair because economic crisis is not only in your country. It is all over the world and all we need is extend a helping hand to make this world a better place to live. Really Lonely

When I moved here I was really lonely at first. I spent so much time working and when I wasn’t I was too tired to get out and make friends, much less go on any dates. I had a good time watching my directv missouri at first but even that got old after a while – there aren’t any real people coming through my TV screen! The best thing I did after a few months of being bored here was sign up for an adult kickball league – I’ve met SO many people through this sport! It’s actually so much fun…we go out on the field, drink “sports drinks” all night and get to just play around. There’s nothing like a no pressure situation to help your guard get lower and for me it was all a matter of feeling comfortable in my own skin. Moving here was the most independent thing I’ve ever done and it’s been hard being away from my family – no more safety net for me! Life is tough enough without going through it alone.

Disney's Yacht Club

We went to Disney World at Epcot to unwind and since we have an all-year pass to all four parks, we can visit these parks anytime during weekdays. We went to Disney's Yacht Club Resort first to have lunch and we proceed to Epcot. This is the ferry ride that we took and I enjoyed it because the view from the lake is awesome.I took this picture from the Ferry Boat dock of Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This area is gorgeous and they have their own spectacular amenities bringing world class accommodation to tourist all over the world. The picture below is the view at the lakeside.This resort offersroom service, fitness center and spa, beauty salon, shopping area, baby sitting and child services, and more. So, if parents wants an hour or two for a romantic time, they can leave their children in the baby sitting services.The standard room in this resort for this season ranges from $360-$2150. The more beautiful the view is, the more it is expensive and you can only reserve it for a minimum of 4 days to 6 days. Pretty expensive huh?For 360 degrees, the view is amazing and you will not regret to stay in this resort. Your time to visit the theme parks at Disney World will be used wisely because you are near to everything. The ferry boat is just right there at the lakeside area of the resort.Visit disney during the winter season because the weather is cool. If you want the heat of the summer, do so but, it's really hot like 110 degrees. I do not recommend that you will visit Disney during Hurricane season because it's rainy and it will only ruin your vacation. I saw tourist who feel miserable soaking wet and trying to find their way to the hotels. Just a tip. But, if you have no other time, maybe you will find your luck and will have a good time.
I love Disney World and I hope you can visit Orlando soon with your family. It is a nice place for a family vacation.

Even though I stayed for three months in CDO last year, I was not able to see the beauty of Cagayan de Oro during Christmas. The project at home made me so busy. One night when my friends wanted to hang out, I got the chance to see the beautiful decorations of our village. Armed with just my low batt cellphone, I wasted no time and took these blurry pictures. I wonder how it looks like this year. The gate of our village always maintain a beautiful decoration for Christmas. Inside the village, houses have amazing decorations too. We did not stay for very long because three of our friends will have to go home towards the downtown and the other village. I miss my place every Christmas because it is always nice to be HOME for Christmas.
I love to attend the Simbang Gabi or Midnight Mass. In the village, the mass starts at 4 AM and it is just good to become part of the tradition.

Christmas in the Philippines is meaningful and celebrated with a joyful heart. "Wala nga talagang tatalo sa PASKO sa PINAS." (",). Merry Christmas everyone!

Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom

I took these pictures during Halloween in Disney World's Magic Kingdom. We went to the Haunted Mansion to know what's the new scary stuffs that they added to this attraction. This lady below is not new at all. In fact, I was waiting for her to roll her eyes.I don't see this when we went last year so; this is newly added. When you touch this, you will hear a sound and water will come out from the stones.This is fun for the kids and kids at heart. While waiting for the line to move towards the door, you can touch this stone and it will make a sound. If you touch the harp, saxophone, trumphet, xylophone and more, it will create a beautiful sound of the musical instrument.This piano will play by itself and if you look at closely, something is moving here.This is the line towards the mansion but, as we move towards it, we enjoyed touching the tombstones and other interesting wall decors. There are so many tricks in here and I bet, children will have fun manipulating these things. It's fun and not at all scary.Click HERE for more pictures.

Oh Yeah! Do not bother me or else... (",)LOL. Well, I seldom drink coffee so, I am okay when I wake up in the morning. Some people are not in good humor especially before breakfast right? Anyway, these are the pictures taken while we were in Alabama visiting a friend. I took the time in taking some pictures using the zoom and the natural light in the room.This house sits on a farmland and have no WiFi connection. Not that they cannot afford to have one but, WiFi is not a necessity in their household. I have a Digi Cam that I seldom use so, I tried to get a sample of its functions.I had nothing to do so; I was exploring the different functions of my digi cam. They have collectible items in the house and I took theses pictures as a subject of my photography. Well, I failed! I am not happy with these pictures. The lighting is so bad as well as the angle. Considering these are the best shots that I have for these things.I am not good in taking indoor photos. I tried to get a picture out of an ordinary camera. Maybe, I was using the wrong function because it does not come out right.
The stuff above is really beautiful and vinatage looking. The detail of the subject is a work of art but, I failed to capture it in this camera. The zoom is not enough. I need a macro zoom.
The last picture was taken so bad. The picture is so blurry. I still have to master how to use this digi cam before I can use a DSLR. The focus just so bad. HMMM.

Finding a perfect home is impossible so; we tried to take it easy this time. We bid for two houses last week and presently waiting for the response from the sellers. If we cannot get any of the two properties, we decided to just focus on finding another Condo Sale. We own two condo properties and they both have been paid off. Right now, we are ready to find a new property that we can rent out for some extra income. We really wanted to own a house with a big yard but in four months we have had no luck in closing our bids.

Our friend lives in a beautiful neighborhood with the backyard facing the lake. They have a private boat dock and a cozy Tiki Bar. The View of Nassau Bahamas From the Deck of Norwegian Sky Cruise Line

Exactly a month ago, we travelled to Miami Florida to board the Norwegian Sky Cruise Line which was heading for Bahamas. The weather for that week was cloudy but, it was not a deterrent to cancel our trip for four days. It was an instant booking because we had a family from Spain and we wanted them to go with us too. We arrived at Freeport Grand Bahama Island on the next day and we stayed there from sunrise to 5:30PM. The port is clean and there were transportation waiting for the tourists. I admire the systematic accommodation that they have and we feel at ease when we transact the ride to our destination because the fare/rates were posted clearly on the information board of the port. We paid $10 each (back and forth rides) towards Port Lucaya and the Marketplace. It took us maybe 15 minutes ride towards that destination and it was a long ride really.The place is beautiful and no one approached us to beg for money. I am sorry but, I cannot help but compare it to my experience in Bohol when the bus driver charged me double than what we agreed upon. Anyway, the place we went to is beautiful and clean. It was pleasing to the eyes of the tourists!The next morning, we arrived in Nassau Island. This is Nassau, the home of the world famous resort --> Atlantis and the Paradise Island. Did you know that I was looking for trash on the port and found none? There were temporary tents built along the port, selling for local goods but when I look at the water, it was very clean and so blue. Most of the tourists noticed that too. You can access the Internet for free from the Port connection. But, if you stayed on the ship, the access is not too good because of the strong wind. Some of the cruise staff who were Filipinos took advantage of the free wifi. I saw them occupying one small sitting area inside the Port building and chatting to their families back home. I would recommend that you should visit Bahamas and see Nassau Island. I heard from the locals that the most expensive room in Atlantis costs 25,000/day and you can only book it for 4 days and more. I tried to search for it but, the highest rate available to public costs less than $800. I don't know if that $25K/day is true or not but, the view in Nassau is worth a million! I love Atlantis and it is really huge and grand!

I just want to share this beautiful picture that I took last month while I was on board of Norwegian Sky. This spectacular view is the heart of Miami. The city is beautiful but, like any other places, it is not perfect. If you hate the traffic, this is not your place. While waiting for our ship to depart Miami, some cruise ships sailed away ahead of us. The Port of Miami is known as the number one container Port in Florida. Right here, the modern cruising was born. The drawing board here is 50 feet deep dredge.

We live near the coastal area of Florida and even in Mississippi so; to visit the island of Bahamas give us the idea of what is great in the island. No one scam us and they are very polite. The van has the capacity of 13 and it was full from the tourists. We did not sign up for an excursion and we only pay $10 for each person for a back and forth ride from the cruise terminal to Port Lucaya area. The beach is just a walking distance in this area. Before we woke up, the Norwegian Sky Cruise Ship arrived early and already dock at Freeport, Grand Bahama Island in Bahamas. We went to the 12th deck to see the sunrise at 7:18 but, it was so cloudy and the sun refused to shine. We thought that this day would be boring because of the rain but, it wasn't bad at all. We went to explore one place in the island and that's the Marketplace and Marina at Port Lucaya.I already love the view of this island. The water is so clean and so blue! When we go to the gangway, we need to swipe our keycard and when we go back, we do the same thing. The prices of the transportation is posted clearly on the big information board. To the Marketplace, we paid $10/person and it's already back and forth. Sorry for the blurry images. It was so windy and I am using BB phone. Anyway, we rode in a van and we are about 10 on it. We told the driver that we will drop by in the Treasure Bay Casino. Since it was so early, there were only few people in the casino.Freeport is district and a free trade zone in the island of Grand Bahama of the North-West of Bahamas. Freeport has become the second most populous city in the Bahamas. The Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) operates the free trade zone so; in Freeport area they will pay no taxes before 2054. While on board the cruise to Bahamas, taking the class in the Aerobic Room was one of the activities that I enjoyed the most. For the past five years my sister and her husband have lived overseas with their children. My brother-in-law is in the military and has been stationed in Asia. I was talking to my sister on the phone last night and she gave me great news—they are moving back to the United States after Christmas! I am so excited to have them closer and be able to see all of them more than once a year when they come home to visit. One of the things that my husband and I out run each other every morning is checking the mail. Both of us wanted to be the first one to get our mails so; we have this child-like competition. Anyway, our community mailboxes are located along the hallway and it happens that the hallway is just outside our door. It is really convenient for us because when the postman arrives, we are the first to check our mails. It is just funny to note that every day; part of our routine is checking the mail at 10 AM.

I sign up for some magazines that I read and I plan to direct it to another mailbox. I was planning to check the price of the commercial mailboxes in our community or at the post office. I wanted to use my address to important mails only. One time when we went for a vacation, our mailbox was full of trash mails and no space for important mails. At The Miami Port

Miami Florida is a nice place but, since hubby and I does not like traffic, this place is not our favorite. We only come here for a short vacation and usually we stay away from the city. Anyway, last Monday we traveled from Orlando to Miami Port to board for our cruising trip to Bahamas. It took us 4 hours on the road and one time we missed our turn but, we arrived safely and on time. When we boarded the ship, it was fast!Since the room was not ready yet, we wander the amenities of the ship. Then, whe we get tired we stayed on this area for so long to appreciate the view of the Miami Port.My husband and I were talking about this beautiful sight. We love watching CSI Miami TV show and this view was featured a lot when crimes happen on the port.
It was drizzling on and off but, all the guests were on the top deck watching the view of the Miami City.
When we arrive the Miami Port, there were so many cruise ships ready to sail away. It is one of the biggest cruise ships capital of the world. There were long lines of cruise ships such as NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean.
Our first plan was to rent a car from a rental company. But, all cars were rented out on this date so; we decided to drive our car and leave it in a private parking lot. It was not a nice parking lot but, it was near the port. It took us about 5 minutes free transport from the parking lot to the Miami Port.

I do not smoke. Back in the city where I grew up, we have a house and we shared it with my aunt's family. Although my mother and brother do not smoke either, my uncle who lives with us is a smoker. He smokes cigarettes after meals and it did not bother us because he would smoke outside the house. Now, as he becomes older he is very sickly and the doctor told him to quit smoking. Since it is already in his system, quitting is impossible! Just the other day, he was admitted to the hospital because he cannot breathe.

I thought giving him an alternative remedy such as electronic cigarette would help him quit smoking. He can use it inside the house because there is no smell, no ash and most of all it's not a tobacco. I love watching HGTV. I am a home owner so; to save a lot of money while improving and upgrading some parts of the house, I find ideas through this channel. For less than two years, I lived in Mississippi and I worked in one of the casinos in the area. Everyday, I passed by the Beau Rivage Resort and I wanted to work here too. It looks so huge and grand! Anyway every morning, I would treat my husband for breakfast in the buffet in this resort and the next day to other places. It was too tiring for me to prepare something after I work on the grave yard.Anyway, the area on the right is an expensive jewelry shop. This is the front of the resort. I always wanted to have a souvenir photo in this area but, as usual, we have no time to stop by and have picture taking. Even though we stayed here for three nights, we were just on the go!This is the entrance to the shopping center inside the resort. If you want to stay in Biloxi to play the slot machine and other stuff, check in this resort and also, Hard Rock which is located beside this resort.
I enjoyed our short vacation here. I love the room because it was on the 23rd floor. I love it for the price we pay. It was actually a good deal booking.

Huge Farm Land

Land is a good asset and for a long term investment, it is actually good because you can pass it on to your family and for the next generation to come. We have few acres of land back home but, the location is steep so; we planted coconut trees and bamboos. Either way, it still good to own lands because in the near future, it will become "money". The Philippines is tropical so; we can plant fruit trees and earn money still. But, here in the US and Alabama in particular, our friend who owns this huge land (as far as you can see and beyond) it's different.He do not till the land himself. He had a renter who made this land into a cotton farm and peanut farm. This is part of the farm land which he maintains daily. This is actually the backyard of their property where he had an animal farm: goats, chickens and 2 mules. The part of the backyard owned by our friend has this huge pond located at the middle. The animals love to hang out in there. The whole vicinity is fenced in but, once in a while there are cayotes that wanders and jump over the fence. They are after the goats. Our friend said that there are big rattle snakes in the area. That is the reason he keeps it clean. These are cotton farm. Well, I thought cottons came from big trees only. But, here ... it's bushes.

Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi

This is Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is my favorite hotel and casino in this area because it's big and grand. We stayed for three nights and our room was on the 23rd floor of the resort. There was a Wi-Fi in the rooms using the Ethernet cable but, around the resort premises, I cannot access it using my iPad2. There was a password but, not all guests were given the password, a HUGE set-back! We moved to another hotel for that reason. This is the bathroom which is huge with a separate restroom and a standing shower plus, a soaking tub.There was double sinks and the bathroom was spacious, clean and has a phone line in the rest room. The soaking tub was truly a big plus in the room. I enjoyed it.

The double sinks are spacious. Yep! I love their bathroom. I do not like the location of our room which ends 004 , ahhhh...too far from the elevator.

This resort has a spa and saloon. Hubby gave me a go signal to take advantage of the service.Anyway, on our vacation, we accomplished most of our business transaction in the area. This is nearby the hometown of my husband so, we certainly can come back here anytime.

When we had our road trip to Alabama, I was so excited. Hubby has a friend in High School and they have been communicating through emails and phone calls. They are up to date about their latest achievement in life. Oh I am talking about family, children, career moves and what they do most of their life now. High School had been 4 decades ago or more but, it was amazing that they remember all the crazy things they did in High School.Yep! I was excited because Alabama is a pretty laid-back place just like Mississippi where you can see people loves eating Southern food, enjoys family activities, attend the church and has the passion to work to provide the family.The thought of traveling to a dirt road was on my mind. It was not the case, gone are those days just like what we saw in the movies. Anyway, the road to our friends' place is long, narrow and winding! Our GPS cannot even locate the place and of course, Internet signal was limited.We were able to reach his beautiful and new constructed home and at the back of his big house was the farmland with animals. He got almost a hundred goats and the amazing part, he had names to all of them. Most of the goats are pregnant and in few weeks, kids will be running in the big yard. They love their farm animals and they do not butcher them because they treat them as babies. They sells them but, not eat them.Aside from goats, they have donkeys and chickens also. I was asking the wife if they had fun having a roasted chicken all the time and I see horror in her eyes. LOL, sorry! Yeah! They do not eat their own pets because they are family as what she says. I keep teasing her but, she was kind enough to explain and she even retorted that they are not that hungry enough to eat their pets. We all burst out laughing!That night, the four of us were reminiscing the men's high school bully days. They are the bullies at that time but, that was 4 decades ago and so different from the bullies we had nowadays. They do not hurt people in those days and up to this time, they remain friends. If you live in the country, people know each other and their generation. We had a good laugh that night and we sleep at midnight. We had a wonderful time!

When you travel Biloxi Mississippi to unwind by the beach along the Gulf Coast, I would personally recommend Hard Rock, Isle, Palace and Beau Rivage. For simple reasons, I stayed in these hotels. This is another hotel and casino that you might check out. My neighbor works here and so many times, she invited me to visit Grand Casino for a free buffet. Their price is a bit too high compared to Hard Rock, Isle, Palace and Beau Rivage. The Harrah's in New Orleans is a sister-company of the Grand and though I love their casino, the hotel rooms are priced beyond our budget.The Beau Rivage is a grand resort and casino and my favorite casino place to hang out. Well, I do not really gamble but, I love their shops and buffet area. The only set back in this place? You cannot access the Wi-Fi anywhere in the vicinity. They have it but, you can only use one computer per room because they are using Ethernet cable. I cannot access Wi-Fi using my iPad2. I tried asking for the code but the lady in the front desk can't give it out. Well, that is why ISLE is a big thumbs up for that. Anywhere in the property, Wi-Fi is Heaven!
The room in Beau Rivage is great because we only paid an affordable budget. I love their soaking tub and the huge bathroom.
You can actually find cheaper prices if you keep checking. There is an IP which you might check it out also. All these hotels and casinos are just located in BILOXI area and walking distance too. There is a Best Western at the front of Beau Rivage too. Well, if you want the good service for your money, why settele for less right? I live in this place before.
