The latest P20 coin has just been launched by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), which will formally replace the current P20 bill.
BSP Gov. Benjamin Diokno releases on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the latest P20 coin with the illustration of former President Manuel Quezon as well as the revamped nine-sided P5 coin with Andres Bonifacio's portrait.
The new coin has bronze and silver tones and seems to be 30 millimeters wider in diameter.
The latest P20 coin is more costly to produce than the edition of the banknote, but the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas says it will last much longer.
By the 1st quarter of 2020, these new coins will be in civilian hands.
