More Halloween Costumes

This is the last batch of Halloween Costumes that I pulled from my picassa album. All these photos were taken from the parties that we attended in the neighborhood of our friends. One house had almost a hundred guests with their family and friends. It was a halloween party and a wedding too. Don't you think he is Casper in white? The blue man is cool too if you want to deal withn face paint.

The guests costumes vary according to age. Most of the teens are wearing the costumes inspired from the TV and movies. Some of the guests are wearing Greek and Roman inspiration. Some are wearing Gothic look, pirates, Renaissance and the little boys are wearing superheroes.
There are few of them who are wearing Disco and Humorous inspired costumes too.
These two ladies are beautiful in their costumes.
90% of the guests are wearing costumes and I took a bunch of photos during the party.
As I have said in my previous posts for Halloween Costumes, if you are hard up with your budget, you don't need to buy a new costume. Try to create your own costume. Just take a look at all these costumes and get your inspiration.

Here is my husband wearing a mask of Jason.

The trick or treat'ers in the neighborhood.

More cute trick or treat'ers.

This man lives on the next house from our friend, he thought that I am a child so; he said, " Come on little girl, you can pick as much as you want because you are with my neighbor" LOL. We don't want to tell him the truth besides, I want the chocolates hahaha.

More trick or treat'ers

This is our friend hehehe. We miss him dearly.

I did ask this gorgeous lady what her costume was but, I forgot. She could be Pocahontas without the mask huh?

Check out their cool make-up, looks like real sin't it?

If I recall it right, I think she had a preggy look in black dress and this devilish horn.

The host in one of the party.

A beautiful lady wearing the medieval/gothic/renaisance theme costume.

A she-devil costume...cute.

That completes my Halloween Theme today. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Until next time. I will see you around. Thanks for the visit.

Pfc Alberto Obod Jr

I have a friend who joined the US military because he loves America and he wanted to bring his family here in the US. He became a citizen and currently, he is already processing the papers of his family. He has big dreams and great hopes while serving the US as a military man. I was so happy with his choices and he is not the only one. Like him, the charming little man on the picture below shared the same dreams.

This is Pfc. Alberto Obod Jr., a Filipino who lives in Orlando, Florida and just this April, he became an American citizen. He was 26 years old died in Afghanistan during a vehicle-roll-over.
Life is so precious. We will never know when, where and how our life will end. God bless all the military men serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Rest in peace Alberto Obod Jr!

Houses By The Beach

I took these pictures while hubby and I had our short road trip down Biloxi towards Pass Christian. We were just in route to Highway 90, the scenic route in Mississippi where the long scenic view of the beach was all you could see. Front of the beach are these big ancestral houses very vulnerable to hurricanes and storms. Sometimes, we saw vacant lots where only the broken fence and flooring's were left behind, a damage from Katrina. These Oak Trees are more than hundred years old and some survived so many historic hurricanes such as Camille and Katrina. Some of the people does not want to leave this area because it is really beautiful. If you live in this house, the front view is the Gulf of Mexico at 180 degrees. The whole beach is theirs and it's FREE to swim 24/7 plus the sunshine and sunsets are truly awesome!
The area is peaceful, low-crime rate, 9 casinos are just 20 minutes away more or less plus normal traffic. If you hate the traffic in your city, this is the right place to live.
The people who lives here have a nice life because they work but has plenty of time to enjoy with family. They always go for family related activities. They are involved in school activities, the town always has community activities. Almost every month actually plus, they go for boating, fishing, crabbing and jet skiing. The picture above has a missing concrete fence at the front. This is the view down Highway 90 in Mississippi. Look at the distance of the beach and the houses on the right. Water surge during Katrina is as high as 27ft.
People here manage to re-build their lives after Katrina. But, when you travel from here towards New Orleans, you will still see the damage untouched.

Anthony Weiner Resigns

I can't help but take a peek on the latest scene of politics. Super hot news about Anthony D. Weiner, the New York's 9th District Congressman announced his resignation today.

I heard his arrogant speech, the unpleasant jokes he cracks toward his opponents, and now look at him, he turned himself into a disgusting old man. He took obscene photos of himself posted to a social media account. Sometimes, a successful politician as he was can be a "pinhead". What made him think that he can get away in this type of craziness?

Scott McGillivray of HGTV

Today is the birthday of Scott McGillivray, the host of HGTV's Income Property. Happy Birthday Scott :-) (feeling close,LOL!). Anyway, this 33 year old gorgeous Canadian is an inspiration for those problematic home owners with nightmare rental properties. He usually come to rescue the homeowners by fixing their rental properties. He presents two options to the struggling homeowners and gives the pros as well as the cons. It's up to the homeowners which of the options to choose after all, it depends upon their reno budget.
I love watching HGTV shows because I am fascinated with home selling/buying, remodeling/flipping houses and income generating ideas. Lately, my husband became interested about home buying as a property income. Scott's Income Property is one of his favorite shows now! Amazing huh? We just bid two properties lately and hopefully those offers will be accepted so that we too, will become members to the landlords/landlady club. By the way, I snagged these three pictures from Scott's Facebook profile. I hope he won't mind. Hoping that you too will watch his TV show every Wednesday evening at HGTV channel! You will never regret it!

The Bottom Three: Top 11 Finalists

This week is Motown Madness episode of American Idol yielded to a mind-blowing and whirlwind turn of events! The bottom three was a shocker! Casey Abrams, Stefano Langone and Thia Megia had the least votes this week! All of them performed their BEST Motown favorites Tuesday night but, I was not expecting Casey and Thia would be in the bottom three. But, since nobody can predict who will be voted out, each results can be off-guard! I am a fan of Stefano but, based on performance, he should be OUT this week! The votes saved him really! He sang HELLO by Lionel Richie and his rendition is not that good. The phrasing and the pronunciation needs improvement!

Thia's performance was not bad when she sang HIT WAVE! Though I wanted her to win, I don't see her as the next American Idol. I wanted her to go out from her shell. She is already cute and charming and I don't want her to stay like that on stage. I wanted her to show her BEST and give her BEST! She don't shine among them. She is just one of them. I hope she will realize that this is her moment to WOW the crowd!

The shocking moment was when the judges unanimously throw their ONE CARD to save Casey. Was it worth the saving? I think it was not a good decision. I hope JLO will not cry if she can't save another soul at the bottom three. 11 Finalists next week but, two finalists will be out! It's getting better every week now! Fellow Kababayan, please vote Thia, let us be proud of her no matter what!

California Escapade

California is one of the places that is in my wishlist to visit. I finally did able to see it and it was a great week of fun and wandering. I visited Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco in my 10 days vacation. We went to Hollywood walk of fame and I can't get enough of it. I never explored the places which I wanted to go but, I will definitely come back.
This is Kodak Theatre, one of the popular places that you should go once you are in LA.

I had my "despidida" lunch in this old building called The Old Sphagetti Factory, a restaurant that serves Italian food which I so loved! Inside, the ambiance is really unique because it is an old school back in 1900's. The decoration includes a chalkboard and flags which are displayed on the ceiling. Amazingly, Philippine flag is there too.

Mattie's Tree

Yesterday, I had a wonderful time traveling to three states in 9 hours. It may not be a record breaking event (LOL) but, I enjoyed it a lot. The purpose of our travel was to get our car tag and visit Mattie in Gulf Breeze, Florida. From Mississippi, we had to passed Alabama then, Florida but, the travel is only two hours so, I just elaborate for the three states. Anyway, we arrived Gulf Breeze before 1PM and we had lunch at Pensacola Beach area. The views are truly amazing! Of course, it's Florida! It should be!Meet Mattie and her 38 years old tree. This tree is as old as I am really! It is amazing because it stood there elegantly in her property. Mattie planted the tree from a twig she found in the yard. She just stuck it on the ground. Never would she imagine that it will survive and grow like this. The husband put a wooden signage to it with her name and the year she planted it.

This is one of the amazing stories that gave me a deep thought. With all the trees I planted in my whole life, was there any of it survive like this? How about you? Mattie is an amazing woman who made an amazing contribution to the environment with this beautiful tree. If you visit Gulf Breeze, Florida, look for Mattie's tree. She lives nearby the UFO man.

We Love to Sing-along

According to the history of my family, lol... I have an uncle who is a musician. I love singing very much and my first exposure was when I joined in a church choir. I missed those moment really. I was in high school when I stopped because I have a hectic schedule at school. I love singing during masses every Sunday and when I am at home, I play my guitar. No formal classes. When I was in the University, I was a Glee Club member up to my post graduate course.
When we have family gatherings, everyone will sing-along and we take turns of the microphone. Now, we have a new generation ... ages from two to elementary, they took over the scene. They will sing before they can read, FUNNY RIGHT?
This is the youngest of my nieces. She can sing "twinkle, twinkle lil star...." ohhh, looks like she got my talent...waaaa! LOL.

Sculptures of Sean Corner

Four of us in the family went to the Peter Anderson Festival in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. That Festival featured local artists who come from different States in the US. Some showed their artwork, special unique decor, wood carvings and many more. Of course, there were food display which were unique recipes of Mississippi.
Here is the space of Sean, the gifted Sculpture Artist.
The most admired area is the space of Sean Corner, a very gifted artist. Here he is, I presumed that he is Sean Corner because he is doing art pieces on the spot. Here are the wonderful art works in his gallery:
I love that art piece with two faces and a hand.
This is a product of a real gifted person right?
This art piece is just one of my favorites in his gallery.
There is no price tag in any of these art work. We did not bother to ask the owner too.
What do you think of his work?

She is my new found friend here in Mississippi, LOL. Actually, she is beside me right now and she gave me instructions what to write. But, I am hard headed, Hehehe. So, I have to write what I need to write. First, she complain because, she wanted me to acknowledge that I am her grandma already. MY OH MY! Her mom is the daughter of my sister-in-law, therefore I am a grandma. Okay, she is my friend and I am a grandma already, LOL. She is a sweety and an intelligent girl. She is good in dancing. She is a ballet dancer and she already did a recital since she was three year old.
Here is a sample of visual effects using picjoke.com where you can do some photo editing.

Kids Thought I Am A Playmate

Here are the kids who enjoyed my company. They thought I am a playmate, LOL. First of all, I love cartoon movies so, you bet I can watch TV with them for many hours. When their mommy had to work and had a problem with their daycare, she needs somebody to watch for them. I volunteered to bring them over to our place. Both of them were so EXCITED hahaha. This cute little girl is very sweet. She loves Miley Cyrus and gosh, she inroduced me to her world of TV Viewing. I find it very interesting and child friendly.
The eldest is very enthusiastic to learn so, she brought books and I helped her do her assignments. That was FUN huh! When their mommy picked them up, they requested to stay there again the next day. The mommy laugh at loud because she never met someone that these kids adored. She said, "My gosh girl, my daughters adored you so much." Grinning!
