Search for Online Travel Deals

The economy is bad yet, some families were able to set aside a budget for a fun family vacation. Here in Florida, the slow season is not really the typical "slow" that we have in mind. In fact; when I visited Disney World on weekdays last week, thousands of tourists flocked the theme parks. The influx of tourists usually happens during summer vacation where children have few days off from school. On weekends, there are more fun activities intended for children and young at hearts too. Going to places have always been an exciting activity for the whole family so; it is always included in the list of priorities for the whole year. There are great deals online so; when you book early for your travels, you can truly find a good deal.

If you have airline points, you can use it for travel deals. That's what we do and believe me, it is awesomely affordable. For $500, my husband and I were able to have a Bahamas Cruising for 4 days. Great online deal right?

Things to Do in Aruba

This post brought to you by Aruba Tourism Authority. All opinions are 100% mine.

After cruising to Freeport and Nassau in Bahamas, the husband and I planned to have a relaxing and exciting Aruba travel. We are drawn to its beautiful beaches, sunny skies, and warm temperature.  Aruba is a perfect place for sun bathing and water sports activities because to sum it up, Aruba has the perfect weather. One of the widest and most attractive beaches in the Caribbean can be found in Aruba. Their beaches are open for public but, despite for this easy access, Aruba is beautiful and their beaches are one of the cleanest beaches in the Caribbean.

We would love to experience snorkling in Aruba. Based from what we heard from friends, Aruba is one of the best places for snorkeling especially when the dive goes to Catalina Bay where one will experience swimming with the fish.  Antilla Wreck is another destination great for snorkeling, home to exotic fish such as butterfly fish and green moray. The Arashi Reef is also abundant with colorful tropical fishes like the parrot fish and angel fish. I would definitely do this activity with a guide for safety precaution though.

There are so many activities which Aruba can offer in both land and water. We would also want to experience the Sunset Sails or just a short sail on a Catamaran. I prefer sailing on a Catamaran minus the engine powered ride. It would be exciting to experience sailing on a sailboat and off with the wind.

How about you? Would you like to try snorkeling in Aruba? What interesting travel activities you have heard in Aruba? Please share your thoughts and I would be happy to publish it.

Please check out the video above. Would you consider traveling to Aruba one day?

Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center

Two days ago, hubby and I decided to visit NASA's Kennedy Space Center. This place is about 15 minutes away from where we live. On the main street of our neighborhood, we can actually see this building, pretty cool huh?Anyway, this is called Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and it is the fourth-largest structure in the world by volume and was the largest when completed in 1965.It was mentioned by our tour guide that the VAB is the largest single-story building in the world. Oh yeah, it is only a single story building. This place is where they assemble the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo program. This was the tallest building in Florida until 1974 and is still the tallest building in the United States outside an urban area. These are pretty fascinating facts right? Check out the picture below.Did you see the building which was pointed by the arrow (picture above)? That's the Vehicle Assembly Building and I took the picture from the bridge heading to Kennedy Space Center. The tour bus drove at the back of the Assembly Area for us to see the huge crawler. Are you planning to visit Florida any time soon? You should check out NASA's Kennedy Space Center. You will definitely love this place.

NASA: Kennedy Space Center in Florida

Last week, we went to NASA's Kennedy Space Center here in Florida which is just 15 minutes away from home. We purchased a Commander's Club Pass and having this ID gives us the priviledge to visit NASA everyday all throughout the year.  It has few block out dates such as Christmas and New Year's Day which is alright coz we stay home for that special day anyway.

The picture above is the ticket booths. Next photo is the checkpoint inside Kennedt Space Center.

Here, my husband is heading towards the IMAX Theater.

The picture below is the parking space.

Here is the road heading to Kennedy Space Centor.I love this location at sunset. It's awesome!

We went to NASA on this particular day because there was a memorial for Astronaut Armstrong. I wanted to hear the speech but, when we arrived, the event had concluded. I heard that it lasted for 10 minutes only.

Yacht Club Resort

Last Monday, Hubby and I were bored at home so; we decided to go to Disney's Yacht Club Resort and had our lunch in one of the restaurants of the resort. Since we had a yearly pass, we decided to visit EPCOT, one of the theme parks of Disney. The picture below is the dock area for ferry boats, the best transportation to visit Epcot or Boardwalk.Part of the grand building of the Yacht Club Resort facing the lakeside. If you have the money, you should check in to this resort. The money you spent is worth it because the access to all theme parks is easy and fast! The amenities in this resort is amazing and jaw-dropping!The picture below is part of the landscape of Yacht Club Resort. That is the life-size replica of a wrecked ship. This is the scenery that awaits you if you stay in this resort. As far as your eyes can see, that is Disney Property and you are in the heart of it! Okay, with this perfect scenery, it will cost you $350/day to $2,150/day on weekday rates with maximum of 5 days booking. Wheewwwww!
If you want to know the amenities, you can check it out in their website.

House Rentals in Calgary

Are you searching for House rentals in Calgary? The chosen location that you have is the most dynamic and attractive city in Alberta so; you are in the right track of finding your new place. Calgary is the largest city in Alberta, Canada which is larger than Edmonton. Before moving to the city, you should determine how much you can afford to pay. An average two bedroom place could range from 1200 to 1700 a month and it depends on where you want to live either the downtown area or the inner-city. Renting a two or three bedrooms in the suburbs would be a little bit more economical. The disadvantage of renting to this place would be the long commute to the city.Calgary is a nice place to live because you can enjoy long days in the summer but has long cold nights in the winter too. Calgary is very similar to a Western city in the United States where you will see many residents wearing cowboy hats and boots. They enjoy rodeos and Western type festivals so; if you love that activity, this place is for you. Calgary is a very clean city and in fact, in 2007 it was voted as the cleanest city in the world by Forbes magazine. You will have all the luxury to breathe that cool mountain air since Rocky Mountains just nearby.

When searching to rent your new home, the Northwest and Southwest suburban are preferred by most residents because you will have some great views of the Rocky Mountains. So; when making your move to Calgary be sure to contact a reputable realtor so they can assist you. For more information, just visit the Website now!

Fort Matanzas

Have you been to Florida? There are so many things to do while you are in the Sunshine State. Of course, you probably would visit Orlando to visit Sea World, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World which you should. If you have more time, you should visit Saint Augustine, the Oldest City in the Nation. For less than two hours travel from Orlando, you will be in Saint Augustine. The road trip is fun and you will enjoy the view of the endless beach line along the scenic route and you might love to take a swim, go for it. Most of the beaches are accessible to public. The shoreline is absolutely beautiful. Before you arrive the city proper, there's a road going to Fort Matanzas National Monument.
The first picture above are canons located on the second floor then, there's the Soldier's quarter. It's very tiny.
Visitors were heading to the second floor of Fort Matanzas using the wooden stairway. The boat that brought us here is FREE to ride.
Fort Matanzas is located in a small island, a 1740 Spanish fort about 100 acres of salt marsh and barrier islands along the Matanzas River on the northern Atlantic coast of Florida. This place is operated by the National Park Service in conjunction with the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in the city of St. Augustine. A historic place built to guard the Matanzas inlet.
If you love to see places associated with deep history, visit Fort Matanzas.

Paranormal Activity

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last month and we spent a short vacation in Saint Augustine, Florida known to be the oldest city in the country. We visited Fort Matanzas National Monument along the inlet of Matanzas River. I love to take pictures, I took so many angles in and out. Here's what I noticed: The picture below was taken outside and it's really clear. It is because I was outdoor, right? Typically, the result was normal. Here is the inside shot using the same camera. I took this picture and my hands are steady but, the result was blurry. I deleted the first shot and took another picture, here's the result. The indoor lighting is not at all dark but, the result of the picture is blurry. Every single shot inside was like this. Could it be because of "paranormal activity"? This is a historical site and when it comes to death, this place is gruesome in 18th century. This building stood in it's original condition. Could this blurry image a ghost tried to manipulate a camera? I am just making my hunch!

Pirate's Alley Cafe

When we live in Mississippi, travelling to New Orleans is just an hour away. When hubby and I gets bored, we just go to Bourbon Street and stay a couple of hours to unwind. I love to travel and take pictures of just anything that's interesting.

The logo designs in the restaurants, bars and in the gift shop stores are truly awesome! They are the work of art and you will admire each unique style. They vary in sizes, themes and wonderful color scheme. The picture above is one of the beautiful signs that I like. This area play vital role in history.

Pirates Alley is the reputed meeting place of the Lafitte’s and Andrew Jackson in 1814 where they formed an alliance and planned the successful defeat of the British at the Battle of New Orleans. They say that there are spirits here! The souls from people who lived and died in these streets that they refuse to hide in the dusty ruins of the past. Amazing ghost story? It's up to you to believe it or not!

Discovery: Final Launch

Today, I requested my husband that we will drive to Cocoa Beach area or to Port Canaveral to watch the historic event of the Final Flight of the Discovery Space Shuttle. It is an hour drive from Orlando but later in the afternoon, we decided not to push through the plan because of the heavy traffic heading to Kennedy Space Center. We watched the launch outside from our home.I could have gotten a closer picture of the Discovery Shuttle but, a thick cloud was on it's way covering the nice shot. As the shuttle flew higher, all I can do was to take the shot of the needle-like image in the sky. This is it! I was a bit disappointed but, there's two more to launch so; I will go by then. Here is the closer look of the launch using a nice camera. I just took this picture on our 50 inch TV :-)

Animal Kingdom

Anytime I want, I can visit Disney World, one of the the most favorite tourist destination in the world. As a Floridian, locals are given special rates to each park and it is affordable. I love all the parks in Disney World and I love the different themes of their hotels. They are all enchanting and amazing! I took this picture in one of my visits in Animal Kingdom particularly in Kilimanjaro, my most favorite attraction in this park. Why? Guests will have the chance to tour Kilimanjaro and see LIVE animals roaming the area. It is pretty safe and the place is awesome especially for animal lovers. Make this place in your wishlist.
