At the Pier by the Harbor in Ocean Springs

Today, we went to Aunt Jenny's Restaurant to celebrate the birthday of my sister-in-law. Hubby and I went to this place about 4 years ago and we thought the food was not that great. Today made no difference. Still, we enjoyed the gathering because we wanted to be around on her birthday. After dinner, we went to the pier by the Harbor in Ocean Springs at the Front Beach and just hang out by the pier. Check out the view that I took. More to publish soon ... so, I will see you around right?

Flashback Wednesday: The Gulf Coast

Happy Hump Day everyone! Too many work to get done but, too little time. Have you got the same dilemma as I have? If you are a full time mom and dad, I bet you can relate. As much as possible, I am trying to get my blog running good and updated. For Flashback Wednesday, let's visit the Gulf Coast.

I took this photo on the 24th floor of the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino where hubby and I were staying.  This is the city of Biloxi, Mississippi. This is one of the hard hit areas during Hurricane Camille and Katrina but despite of that, they bounced back to normality. Gaming Business is doing great and more or less this place has 8 casinos. If Las Vegas is too far for you, you can check out this place. The food here is great and if you are looking for seafood, this is the right place to explore.

Aside from Beau Rivage Resort, we also stay in the Isle of Capri (see the photo above.). Isle of Capri is now named as Golden Nugget in Biloxi. Under the new management, I still have to check it out. Maybe this Christmas as we spend our Christmas Holiday with family and friends in Ocean Springs. If you happen to visit the Gulf Coast and looking for a place to stay with amazing view by the gulf, you should check out these two: Beau Rivage and Golden Nugget. I totally recommend these two because I stayed there. I love their buffet too. Oh, I can't wait!

Now, this was taken at the balcony of our room in Golden Nugget (Isle). The room we booked was overlooking the bay of Biloxi. It was a pleasant stay. The land mass of the opposite side of the bay is the Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

The picture above is the Bay Bridge on I-90. It connects Biloxi and Ocean Springs. One day, I will be jogging in this place and have breakfast in Golden Nugget, sounds great huh? Well, we actually live in Ocean Springs before and I worked in one of the casinos in the area of Biloxi. Golden Nugget is one of the places that hubby and I eat for breakfast because it's just nearby our place.

The photo above is the boat dock at the back of Golden Nugget. There are shrimp boats in the area too but, mostly they dock at the back of Hard Rock Hotel and casino.

Here we are at the Front Beach in Ocean Springs, taking our lazy time. The Golden Nugget is the building across. Oh by the way next year, we will be moving back to Mississippi to be with our family and relatives. We are in the process of looking at houses. I can't believe that I am actually excited.

The Gulf Coast: Endless Array of Scenic View

The Gulf Coast is blessed with endless array of scenic view. The skies display a spectacular shape of clouds, and wonderful colors. Even when it's gray, it sure lights up my day. So gorgeous down here. Hubby and I would take few moments to enjoy the view before we go inside the Isle Hotel and Casino. I took this picture at the garage.

An Awesome View of the Gulf

My husband won't stay at home when I was sleeping. I work at night and sleep most of the time on day time. My father-in-law and him would go out buying stuffs at Wal-Mart, drive down the Front and East Beach, and if there were garden and boat shows, they would go. One time, I woke up for lunch and they were gone somewhere. When they arrived few minutes later, they were excited telling me that they bought a pontoon boat, LOL. Anyway, the photo below was taken at the end part of Front Beach in Ocean Springs Mississippi. I was at the top floor (restaurant) taking this picture. What an awesome view huh?

Shrimp Boats by the Gulf

When I got out from work at 7AM, I was dead tired so; hubby and I would go to Hard Rock for breakfast, it's halfway between my workplace and home. My father-in-law at that time was still asleep. Hard Rock has a Satisfaction Buffet serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet truly satisfies my growling appetite and it's only $7 per person. On Wednesday's and Friday's, it was 50% off. Basically, if we dine on those days, $7 covers for both of us. Great deal right? The photo below was taken at the garage of Hard Rock in Biloxi Mississippi, viewing the awesome Gulf, shrimp boats and deer island. The shrimp boats were owned by the local fishermen and a number owned by Vietnamese. A pound of large shrimp was only $2. We sometimes drop by at early morning to buy a couple of lbs.

The View of the Gulfcoast

On my day off, hubby and I would drive down highway 90 from Ocean Springs towards the Gulfport and just enjoy the view by the beach. The seashore stretched long miles with spectacular view. There was a mall in the Gulfport area and situated along US 90 so; when we are tired on the beach, we just go to the mall to cool down in Starbucks or went shopping. Some people went swimming, fishing on the Pier, having the jet ski and boating. Life along the Gulfcoast is pretty laid back and most of their activities are family oriented.
Sunsets and sunrise here is truly magnificent! A view worth watching for. Actually, I was so envious of those people living in those big houses with the perfect view of the Gulfcoast. Have a road trip and check out the area. This place is truly awesome!

The Panoramic View of the Bay of Biloxi

I always use my BlackBerry phone in taking pictures. It is just handy and convenient. When I plan for a trip, I also bring my Digital camera but, I seldom use them. While I was taking some pictures from the balcony of the ISLE hotel, I noticed one function from my digital camera. It can capture a Panorama from either left or right direction. I tried it and it just stich the 4 pictures into 0ne. This is the result. We stayed in the ISLE of Biloxi for 3 days (Mardi Gras season) and most of the time, I stayed in the balcony looking at this view. AWESOME huh?

While On Vacation at Mississippi

For less than two years, I lived in Mississippi and I worked in one of the casinos in the area. Everyday, I passed by the Beau Rivage Resort and I wanted to work here too. It looks so huge and grand! Anyway every morning, I would treat my husband for breakfast in the buffet in this resort and the next day to other places. It was too tiring for me to prepare something after I work on the grave yard.Anyway, the area on the right is an expensive jewelry shop. This is the front of the resort. I always wanted to have a souvenir photo in this area but, as usual, we have no time to stop by and have picture taking. Even though we stayed here for three nights, we were just on the go!This is the entrance to the shopping center inside the resort. If you want to stay in Biloxi to play the slot machine and other stuff, check in this resort and also, Hard Rock which is located beside this resort.
I enjoyed our short vacation here. I love the room because it was on the 23rd floor. I love it for the price we pay. It was actually a good deal booking.
Grand front facade right? Bravo to the landscape workers. They did a good job!

The Sunrise by the Gulf

This picture was taken from the balcony of our hotel room at the ISLE. The land mass is the beach line of Ocean Springs Mississippi. The sunrise is always beautiful here in Misissippi and I witness it everyday when I come home from work. I was working on a graveyard shift so, when I passed by the bridge heading to Ocean Springs, this sight is what I always love to see.

The Beautiful Sunset

The Gulf Coast is one of the best places to watch the sunset. I took this picture a week ago while we had our vacation in Mississippi. Oh! Cover your eyes because this sunset is still shining so brightly! We were checking in the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino when I saw this beautiful sunset at the garage of the hotel. Of course, I had to asked my husband to stop so I can take a snap of this view. Beautiful, isn't it?Hoping you like it. I am using my Kodak Digital Camera.

Along the Gulf Coast

We arrived home safe and sound from our week vacation along the Gulf Coast. There is no changes after two years. Fort Walton and Panama City always have tourists around the area because there are shopping malls nearby, restaurants and bars are open for business. In fact, most of the high rise hotels are fully booked. The pictures here are rental houses along the Gulf Coast. It was like a ghost town really but, these properties are facing the Gulf of Mexico with awesome view of the beach. Not so many tourists came here because the locations of these rental properties are located further from the shopping districts. On the other hand, if you want peace and quiet, this is truly the best place to unwind.
The house above is not a rental property. This house is really beautiful and huge but, it is located in a remote place but, along the beach highway. Most houses and rental properties here are made of stilts. If there are hurricanes, the water surge can reach this area. Here is another huge house along the beach. As I have said, this neighborhood is away from the shopping districts and all they have is a nice beach view and the beautiful yard full of trees.

We Had A Road Trip

We had a road trip for a week and we booked three hotels all together. First we stayed in Beau Rivage and our room was on the 23rd level over looking the city of Biloxi. The second is the hotel below called the Isle and had a balcony facing the Gulf and the back bay. Our room is at the 10th floor and I was looking at the Ocean Springs area and the bridge. The last hotel was at Fort Walton along the beach boulevard in the Florida Coast. The big building at the far end is the Isle hotel. Both are hotels and casinos -Beau and the Isle which are located in the Biloxi area of Mississipp. If you do not want to travel as far as Las Vegas, this is a good place to start. Biloxi and nearby city has at least 9 casinos and everyday they have activities for the tourists. The picture above is a private property but, along the Front Beach and East Beach of Ocean Springs, people can go fishing in a harbor and pier complex. This is one of the favorite places where my husband and I went for fishing and crabbing. It still looks the same after a year. The place has an awesome view of the Gulf of Mexico right?

On Our Road Trip

When we were traveling for a road trip down the Gulf Coast, there are so many hotels and Inns along the high way. Some of the places are not in a good neighborhood and we did experience having to stay in a remote hotel. We had to stop one time in a cheap hotel because we were so tired. If you stay in a remote hotel or inn, you will have this cautious feeling of being watch like in a horror movie. This hotel is not in a remote area though and located at the front of the highway 90 and front of the water facing the Gulf of Mexico. A good place to stay when you are so tired from the road trip. A good sleep does matter a lot.

Glimmer of Hope

Here's one of the pictures that I took while living in Mississippi. We always drive across the bridge that connects Biloxi and Ocean Springs. I usually work at ten in the evening and my husband would come pick me up at seven the next day. So, I always saw the sunrise along the Gulf of Mexico. This is a sunset though after a big storm. Still cloudy but, there's a promise of hope amidst those glimmering light :-)I don't miss my work but, I miss Hardrock and Beau Rivage where hubby and I always frequent almost everyday. We live just 5 minutes away from these hotels so; we love hanging out in this cool casino and dig in to the buffet area.

At the Beach Feeding the Birds

This is one my favorite set of pictures taken last year in Mississippi. It was freezing but our cousins from Missouri wanted to feed the birds on the beach. Husband and I accompanied the kids and the hungry birds swarming above us.

There were no one on the beach area during this time because it was snowing. The original plan was really to go fishing but, weather turned bad. Honestly, after taking these pictures I went back inside the car and turn the heater on. I was freezing to death! The wind blows from the gulf was like ICE!

We were having fun when we put a piece of bread on our head and let the birds dived onto it. Very scary at first but, we got used to it as we close our eyes or cover our faces. During this time, the wind was blowing so badly and once it hits my skin it's like a painful pinch of needles. I could not even hold my camera in steady position because I was shaking. The kids were used with snow in Missouri so, they were enjoying this moment unmindful of the freezing temperature. Hubby and I left the kids until such time they run out of food to feed them. The weather was just too much for me even if I was excited to play with snow. The picture below shows the kids tried to feed the birds. The piece of bread was on their heads. After an hour, the kids decided to go back home and getting warmed up! I love this weather really! It gives me time to just chill out indoor, watch TV and just have a lazy day!

Me and Blogging Moment

One of those rare moments, enjoying my time under the old oak tree. Talk about inspiration? This is heaven! The place is so quite and surreal! While living in Mississippi for 18 months, I did enjoy the beauty of the Gulf Coast. Even in a stormy weather like this (as shown in the picture), you still can see the awesome sky kissing the horizon. (Smile) Okay! Enough for this dreamy description, there's truth to what I say though, right? Shown above is the bridge that connects two cities in the state of Mississippi, Biloxi and Ocean Springs. I took this picture when Hubby and I did our afternoon rides in Front Beach area. The blurry big building at the end of the bridge is Isle of Capri in Biloxi, MS. It is one of the hotel and casinos in the area. If you travel down South along Highway 90 at Beach Boulevard, check out the affordable buffet at The Buffet (one of the restaurants in the ISLE), enjoy the meals wholeday.

This is the signboard of Fort Maurepas Park, the location of the park which already inaugurated last October 5, 2009. The park is located at Ocean Springs Mississippi. It has a playground, sitting area for those who loves to relax under the old oak trees while enjoying the view of the beach. This is one of the best places that I love to hang out specially when I am blogging.

Gulf Coast in Biloxi Area

I need to share this wonderful view taken in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is the Gulf Coast view at the back of The Isle Hotel and Casino in highway 90. I wanted to see what's the view behind the Isle of Capri Casino and here it is, a spectacular scenery.
This is a docking area for shrimping and private boats but, it's under renovation at the moment.
The picture was taken at the garage area of the Isle of Capri. If you want to visit Biloxi, Mississippi, you will surely admire the beauty of the Gulf Coast area. Casino business is booming here in Mississippi. You should come and visit.

By the way, kindly check out doubletake.com if you are looking for exchange recovery for your business.

Sunset At Gulf Coast

We have been traveling at US Highway 98 last year from Mississippi to Florida and I just took these pictures of the sunset at the Gulf Coast.
If you clicked the picture, it is blurry because we drove at 40 mph speed so, my camera has no feature to get a steady caption.
It was so beautiful but we at this point, we don't have time to stop because this beach seemed like isolated. We are the only car on this road and I don't like it because it is getting dark and we are only holding the map.
I like to travel on this road at day time because the beaches are beautiful. But, seemed creepy during night time because you will pass by the little towns and not one single soul on the road.
Anyway, we arrived in Orlando at 10 PM , almost a 12 hour drive from Mississippi. It takes longer because we have to stop from time to time.

Biloxi Harbor

This picture was taken from the third floor of the garage of Hard Rock Casino and Hotel at Biloxi, Mississippi. These are private fishing boats and some are shrimp boats. The white island nearby is an island just emerged after Hurricane Katrina. Part of the Gulf Coast.
This is the closer look of the harbor.
Part of the harbor at the Gulf Coast. A private dock of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino at the right.
The left side look at the back of the casino facing the Gulf of Mexico.
