On Our Roadtrip: Beautiful Mountain

When I did my home renovation back home, I hired a dozen of carpenters and masons. It was only a 90-day project so, they have to finish it with in the allotted time frame. They came from a mountainous region so; when they arrived in my town, all they have in mind was going to the beach. On their free day, they went swimming to the beach and they were so excited like a child when parents announced for a Disney Trip. Oh yes, they were!

Little did I know that when hubby and I traveled from Florida to Missouri, seeing the mountains and driving the gorges along the interstate was more exciting than I thought. I was thinking, wow - such a pleasant sight! Living in the coastal is beautiful but, seeing the mountains was spectacular specially when we don't travel this far and not in the direction towards the Midwest.

Beautiful isn't it? We made a stopover in Tennessee and what a gorgeous place. I love seeing the mountains. Maybe in the next year or two, I told hubby that we should visit Chattanooga.

I was wondering where these trucks are heading and they are too many. Traveling from Florida to Missouri was one of the best road trips that we have. Honestly, we booked a flight to Kansas but, we canceled it. We decided to have a road trip instead. The weather in October was beautiful and we were happy with the decision that we made.
I took the photo above at early morning, outside the hotel where we stayed for the night. I was wondering what's it like on a snowy days here.

It was a foggy morning and it's about 7AM and we were ready to hit the road after breakfast. What a gorgeous day it was! This is the front of the hotel and yes, the hotel was built on a hill. The view is so surreal and I could live here you know. A very peaceful and beautiful place.

Such a Beautiful Sunset

We were so busy last week going to Orlando and back in Cocoa Beach. I think in one day, we drove three times. We were in Orlando because the renter of our condo moved to Oklahoma. Our condo was vacant for 3 days and we did the cleaning. Thank God that we were able to rent it in 3 days. The renter is a single mom with three kids. We hope and pray that this family is a good tenant. We allow them to rent without a background check but, the HA in our condo will do that. It will take two weeks plus there's a holiday coming so; we were just praying that we have a good tenant. It will be too late if the background check will come out unfavorable.

On our last trip to Orlando, it was already 6 PM and the horizon was so pretty. I took series of photos as we drove the 407. The sun was incredibly huge glimmering with golden orange color. It was such a beautiful sunset.

We planned to visit Disney but, because of the late notice by our tenant, we cancelled it ...again... for the nth times. Oh well, we will this week and we will be heading to a less crowded theme park. I will just take photos of the Christmas Decors of each theme park.

Anyway, are these photos beautiful or what? While other states in the US are freezing cold, ours here in the Space Coast of Florida is on the 70's. Crazy huh? I heard the news today that we will reach 84 in the afternoon. I don't like that! 50's and 60's are ideal temp for me. Bring on the wintry chill in Florida dear weather. Enjoy your week everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Have a Wonderful Thursday

What a lovely day! This is an old photo that I took in one of our road trips back and forth from Florida to Mississippi. I was on the passenger's seat so; I got all the time to take pictures. I remember that during this time, I used my blackberry phone and an ordinary Kodak camera in taking photos. This picture is not the best but, you can tell that nature speaks beauty. As the sun goes down on the horizon, it somehow gives me that calming feeling that everything will be alright. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Distracted Driving : Danger on the Road

We had a week-long road trip a month ago traveling from Florida to Kansas City, Missouri. My husband cancelled our flight the day before the trip and decided to rent a car. I sat on the passenger seat and most of the time, I kept him awake. I always open a pleasant conversation with him and so far; his driving skills are perfect. Well, perfect is just a metaphor really ... in reality, nothing is perfect when we are on the road because accidents do happen no matter how careful we are since other drivers are irresponsible. Some drivers disregard the safety measure when they are driving and in fact, on that road trip, 85% of the drivers were on the phone. You know what's scared me the most? When I saw drivers texting while driving on the Interstate. Check out the infographic on Distracted Driving below:

I just hope that the use of cellphone and texting while driving will be ban in all state. There is great danger to that because the driver will be distracted. What do you think?

Some People Prefer to Live Nearby the Beach

Some people prefer to live nearby the beach area for they love to swim, see the the perfect sunrise, smell the salty breeze by the sea, go fishing and crabbing, boating and loves wearing the beachy wear such as sleeveless, comfy shorts and flip flops .... you know, just living a good life near the waters. My husband loves that and finally, we found a place that we could do all that simple living lifestyle. We took this road if we will go the island, the cruise terminal and the beach. This road is along the Indian River. People came here for fishing and boating. During the lift off of Shuttles in Kennedy Space Center, this road is crowded. Not a good spot but, people will have a good view of the shuttle in the sky. this is the Indian River.... houses near the river banks are beautiful The cruise terminal for Disney, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Norwegian is nearby our place too.We love our new place because it has a country setting but, few miles will be the tourist district. We love the seafood restaurants in this area. Good place, beach, no traffic and good eats, it's all here.

When I Am Bored

Every road trips that we have, my husband is the driver and my job is to keep him awake. Half the time, I am bored and before I knew it I doze off to sleep. I usually tweet, do facebooking and sometimes blogging. I have a USB connect so; I can can use my laptop with fast Internet connection while on road trips. This is my favorite subject for photo caption and I can't understand why.

Road Trip Photos

I was checking some pictures that I had in one of my pc's and I found these. I would like to share these photos that I took during our road trip two years ago. When my father-in-law lost his wife, he lived alone for almost three months. He lives in this three bedroom house and it's just too lonely for him to live by himself.
My hubby asked my father if he likes the idea that we will move-in with him to accompany him in the house. At first, he was so adamant but, later on gave in and excited to see us.
We were traveling from Florida to Mississippi on the scenic routes. Florida is truly amazing! The beach is gorgeous and the view is fantastic! The only set back? I am using an ordinary phone camera at that time. These pictures were taken in the evening so, it's an awkward images. We arrived almost midnight on this very date. Lil did we knew that in less than two years, FIL will be gone forever. It was too soon but, hey, we did have a good time. I always blog about him during those months. He played the Wii Game at 89 years old :-) Unbelievable!
The picture above is in Biloxi, heading towards Ocean Springs. I was happy actually because we moved to a place that have the fascinating view of the Gulf Coast and almost a dozen hotels and casinos.
I will post more photos of my travel soon. Have a happy life everyone.

Bad Weather Adventure

My husband and I love to travel a lot. In between work days and day offs, we make it sure that we had time to do the things that we love doing. After I got out from work yesterday, we visited my FIL in his assisted living facility. I had a tear-jerking moment when he says, he hoped that we still can see him back alive! We told him we will be back in three days and he was relaxed! Anyhow, we managed to do our roadtrip late in the afternoon.

The picture above was taken while we are on the bridge which connects Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The black rain clouds were part of Hurricane Alex that reached Mississippi and Florida. As we drove to I-10, we crossed a heavy rain with zero visibility. The weather was so bad that we made a detour and rely merely on the map. Oh, I love reading the map and was actually enjoying the view of the tiny cattle and horse ranch along the way. I never sleep for almost 20 hours so, half of the time I doze to sleep. Picture taking was halted!

Road Trip to Pensacola

These pictures were taken last April when we are on our way to Pensacola, Florida. These pictures were still in Alabama though. Notice the tall buildings? The right way is heading to the Carnival Cruise Ship. I posted the pictures of the view on that side already. I mentioned in my other posts that those bildings are my favorites in this area. They stand so tall and grand. Amazing design too. That huge building by the way is the RSA Battle House Tower, the tallest building in Alabama.
Heading to the tunnel now. Remember the movie Daylight? If something like that happen in here, anybody will be trap really. Under the sea tunnel. Scary huh!
When you are at the middle of the tunnel, all radio, GPS and cellphones are dead. The tunnel is under the water/sea.
This is the exit of the tunnel. As you can see on the sign, it has an arrow that says, Battleship Park in Alabama. We will plan a trip to visit that place and I will take pictures to show you the old battle ships.
Oh, I like this view. Thanks for stopping by.

Road Trip Inside Orlando

Everyday, we always make it a point to drive downtown in Orlando or just hanging out in the streets. Sometimes, we drive towards the village that we are not familiar with. This time, we just drive around the city.
No traffic at this time though. Never wished to have a traffic because it would surely make you mad.
Love taking pictures of the road. Even if we travel at 45 mph, it won't stop me from taking a good shot.
We usually drop by in Walgreens, Aldie, Publix and BJ's. These are my favorite stores in Orlando. So, before we head home, I have to roam around the store for a short pick-up of grocery. Boring activity....LOL.
The streets in Orlando are very confusing for me. But, if I have the map, I can find my way.
Railroad crossing. Many accidents happened in this area because of stupid drivers who think that they are superman. Anyway, drive safely and be alert all the time.

My Fascination With Clouds

These pictures were taken last year when we ( husband and I) went to Tampa International Airport. There was a storm on this day but, the road trip was safe. The weather in Florida changes abruptly from Sunny to Stormy so, these clouds are not really scary. I took few shots fascinated with the cloud formation as usual.
It rained in some parts of Florida but, we never come close to it even after we headed home to Orlando. And beacuse of the weather disturbance, we were not able to visit the nearby place called Clearwater, Florida. That place is truly amazing. We will schedule sometime to really visit that place.
I really enjoy the road trip that we had with my husband. Of course, I am just a passenger stuffing my mouth with foods and fruits..LOL! I usually talk to him most of the time to keep him awake.
The next visit, it will be me who will occupy the driver seat. That is the view of Tampa, Florida.
