Entrance Christmas Decor

I was in PI during Christmas last year but, I did not have the time to visit most of the places that I wanted because I was stuck with my project. I went to LKK Mall few times and I took these pictures at the South entrance. The decor was simple but elegant, right? We were waiting for a taxi and I just snapped two pictures because we were in a hurry. The interior was decorated beautifully and it was so crowded with Christmas shoppers.
My next visit will be for a vacation and nothing else. Pictures taken at LimKetKai Mall, Cagayan de oro City, Philippines.

Simply Beautiful

This is simply beautiful right? I took these pictures at the roof top of my place back home. I love to wake up early and have a hot tea, stay at the roof top while enjoying the sunrise view.
I can't wait to get back home again.
The roof of my neighbors are visible too, LOL. The sky looks great though. I miss my home now.

Mayor Justiniano Borja

Justiniano R. Borja was the mayor of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines for 10 years. He served as an honest and dedicated public servant from 1954-1964.This statue is located in the heart of Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City. He died at the age of 52. I took these pictures while waiting for my orders in a local restaurant nearby. I visited my hometown last October and for three years, the city has grown with infrastructures and blooming with big time businesses.Despite of finding the remedy for traffic issues, my city remain as The City of Golden Friendship. Come visit Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines and explore the city's tourist attractions such as Water Rafting, tee time at Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club, and more. You can stay at Ridgeview Chalets at Xavier Estates too, my personal favorite place to unwind. You will definitely enjoy the Malasag Eco-Tourism Village and experience the Night Cafe and Night Market during weekends. For more information, visit the official Website of the city: cagayandeoro.gov.ph. See you there!

Inside SM Mall

Last year, I went to PI to finish an important task and I rarely go out for a short trip. I went to the mall mainly for groceries and do some banking. I promised myself to take a picture of the inside of the mall but, I can't get a good shot because I was always on the rush. One hand with my phone and the other with something to carry. Nonetheless, I just feel like sharing these pictures though it's blurry and bad caption. This is inside SM mall in Cagayan de Oro City while I was waiting a friend outside Watson's pharmacy.Every main doors in the SM Mall has security guards and for me it was normal. Far different in the US because you seldom see them here even the banks mostly have no security guards. The mentality of my American friends when they knew that we have security guards in most establishments in PI, we have problems with peace and order. I just shrugged it off! Here's the blurry photos taken at LKK Mall. We were rushing to find an ATM inside which we did find anyhow. I love to roam around the mall if given enough of the time.I am so proud of the malls in Cagayan de Oro because they are nice and well maintain. I can bring my American friends and I can be proud of our place. As you can see from the decoration, it was Christmas and the malls were beautiful with all the glitters and huge Christmas trees. We are still contemplating either to visit Philippines or go somewhere else for Christmas Vacation. My husband enjoyed SM Mall and I bet he will love to go visit the Philippines once again.

SM City Cagayan de Oro

For less than 10 minutes from my house in PI, I can do shopping, watch movies, do groceries and banking, dine in the food court and the list of activities are endless. This is SM City Mall in Cagayan de Oro City which is located in Pueblo de Oro township, Uptown in Carmen area. This mall is owned and operated by SM Prime Holdings.Presently, SM Cagayan is the 2nd SM Supermall located in Mindanao and the first SM Supermall in Northern Mindanao area. What I love about SM Mall is that, it has everything that I need! The grocery store is huge, has wide selections of appliances and has great display of electronics. The parking garage is very safe, huge and spacious.I took this picture on weekdays at 9:30 in the morning and forgot that they will only open at 10 AM. When you visit Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines, I suggest you stay in Ridgeview Chalets at Xavier Estates and this mall is your primary hang out. It will probably take you less than 10 minutes to arrive in the mall. Visit Cagayan now!

Under La Buena Vida Skies

This is a rare photo I took using my Kodak digital camera during my visit to PI last January. I was at the rooftop waiting for the first flight to take off from Cagayan de Oro Airport. It's good to see the clear blue sky and having a coffee with this sight, just a relaxing morning to start a day, right? La Buena Vida is the first neighborhood beside the airport. The sound of the airplanes don't bother me at all because in my area, it is not that bad thanks to the wind direction.

Cagayan de Misamis: 1924

*This is a Re-post with permission from the author himself..

Shared by Enrico Ramon Lluch.

President Emilio Aguinaldo visited Cagayan de Misamis in OCtober 5, 1924. This photo shows a make-shift covered stand, which after careful study, indicates this to be on the spot at the present day Divisoria, Tiano Brothers Street end, facing the Rizal Monument.
The corner house in the near background used to house "Mama's Favorite" Store in the 70's.

I am posting these, scanned from Tita Tellie Velez' collection -- in celebration of our city's charter anniversary.

On June 15, 1950 former President Elpidio Quirino signed Republic Act No. 521 in the MalacaƱang Palace. It granted the status of a chartered city to the Municipality of Cagayan de Misamis. This was made possible through the efforts of then Congressman Emmanuel Pelaez, who eventually became the Vice President of the Philippines.

Cagayan de Oro was declared a highly urbanized city by the Ministry of Local Government on November 22, 1983.

Rooftop View

My nephew would say, "why is your airplane here is so big?" I would laugh out loud about it! We live uptown and near the airport. Actually, we can see the runway from my rooftop. The view in my place is spectacular because I can see a 360 degree and all those surrounding mountains are just beautiful.

I can see the sunrise and on the other side, the sunset! It feels heaven when I am up there on the rooftop! The picture above is the view of my place from the rooftop, facing the airport. Gorgeous sky today!

The Reunion of XU Library Kapamilya

I really do not have the time to have a real vacation because all my days were spent with my home project. When the XU Library Kapamilya invited me to attend the get together party, I did not hesitate to join. Fresh my my migraine attack, I had a wonderful time with them at Opol Beach, Philippines.

Shown in the pictures are some of the XU Librarians and my co-workers in college. We are called XU Library Association of Working Scholars, a group of XU Students who are self supporting with the help of the remuneration that we received as an SA-student assistant. They are part of my life who have been instrumental of what I am today.

XU Glee Club Batch 90's

The best days of my life as a student was when I joined Xavier University College Glee Club. Our conductor/trainor/musical director/mentor was the late Professor Lino Y. Abrio. I was accepted and become a member since 1989 up to 1995.

When I auditioned and was accepted, it made my life exciting and fun. I love to sing and being in the choir. Music is an inspiration and as a Glee Club member, singing gave me the power to dream. These pictures was taken when we went to Ateneo de Davao University to do a concert. I can't remember how many days we were in Davao but, all I remebered was the happy moments. We have fun as we chartered two buses to Davao.
I am proud to say that all of us in these pictures graduated a Bachelors Degree and landed a stable job.
Thanks to LongLong and Father Cuna for their precious time and financial support to XU College Glee Club.

I missed the song, the music, the faces, the friendship, the laughters and the performance.
