Helping Your Child Make the Transition to College

For most incoming college students, it’s the first time they’ve lived away from home, and the change can be overwhelming. There are many new responsibilities that they now have to take care of—both with their academic and personal lives. You can visit University Villages West in Clemsonto see what their life will be like on campus and learn how you can help make the adjustment easier on your child.

Choosing a Career Path

One of the major responsibilities a student has to deal with during their time at college is choosing a major and a career path. Obviously, this can have a weighty impact on their entire future, and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Encourage your student to sit down with you or with a school counselor to talk about their options and make a plan to fit in all the necessary classes and other requirements. It doesn’t hurt to remind them, at the same time, that many people change their major partway through college, and it isn’t the end of the world if they change their mind.

Taking on Financial Responsibilities

College is a good time to let your child learn how to handle their own money if they haven’t already started to do so. Even if you’re paying for their tuition, you might want to make them responsible for items like clothes and music. It’s a good idea for them to get a bank account and even a credit card. Using a credit card responsibly and paying it off on time every month will help them to start establishing a good credit history, which will be invaluable in the future.

Adjusting to Independent Living

A third major adjustment for your child will be living away from home for the first time. They will be responsible for doing their own laundry, tidying their room or apartment, and possibly even making meals. If you help teach your child these skills while they’re young, it will make the move a lot easier on them, and you’ll never have to worry that they can’t take care of themselves. You can also visit University Villages West in Clemson before the semester starts so you know what furniture or other belongings your child will need as he or she starts their new life away from home.

Dance Schools: Tap, Jazz, and Ballet for Little Ones

Your baby girl is finally old enough to put on those adorable leggings, leotard, and dance shoes and do more than just dance to the music in the living room. She is five years old and you have been waiting for this moment for as long as you can remember. You grew up dancing; in fact, your first memories include many dance moments. So when you were pregnant you were so excited to learn that you were having a girl. You have three older boys and you had almost lost hope of having a dancing baby girl. Now, the time has come to enroll her in one of the best dance schools in Charlotte.

Ballerina School
One of the areas of dance the little ones start out doing is ballet. Ballet is a beautiful dance style that teaches graceful movements. The younger children start out by learning the first two or three positions and the simple movements associated with basic ballet. Before you know it your little ballerina will be perfecting her plies and leaps.

Tapping
The second area of focus for the younger children is tap. This is one area of dance that the children absolutely enjoy. What child doesn’t love to make lots of noise? Tap shoes provide that tap, tap, tap noise that children love and also prove a percussion sound. Your baby girl will begin to learn the art of syncopation and dancing ‘close to the floor.’ Before you know it she will know the difference between the shuffle ball change and the flap heel. Tap dancing was always your favorite.

Jazz Dance
The last area of focus for the little ones is jazz dancing. The reason why most dance schools in Charlotte choose to focus on these three instead of just one is to give the children an opportunity to experience three of the most popular styles of dance which will usually allow them to decide which they like the most. As the children get older they can then begin to specialize. It may be ballet, tap, or jazz or a couple of each. It doesn’t matter what your daughter chooses, you just want her to have fun.

Education is Important

I am still in the dilemma whether to continue my Masters in Education or shift to CNA course. My experienced as a classroom teacher taught me the importance of patience and compassion. Half of what I learn from school did not prepare me from the real classroom situation in a public school setting. Experience truly is the best teacher of life. Looking on the lighter side as a graduate of a University, it molded my personality as a goal oriented person. I am sure you are too whether you study in WaldenU.edu in Walden University or somewhere else. We usually aim a Higher Education as a way of self-fulfilment and our thirst of knowledge. Right now, I am drawn to shift careers such as the CNA because I love being with the elderly. And besides, I have the patience to listen to their stories for more than a decade.

Schooling

After quitting my job, I decided to go back to school. I wanted to pursue my Masters Degree and start the business that I dreamed to have. Of course I prefer not to live in a boarding school even though it is much better that way and gain privacy.

My friend Vivian who studied Education in UK, lived in a boarding school just like Alexanders School . We had a good communication for the past months now and she showed me her dorm room. It was a nice place and has a very quite environment. My friend loves her room because it is easy to maintain and has everything to it. Her place is located in a good location too. She can go to a store nearby and visit a park in walking distance.

It is different with me though. My place is gated and the grocery store is 15 minutes away. Anyway, I am just excited for this enrolment process and looking forward for my first day of class. I am hoping to finish this course with high marks.

Agusan Elementary School

This is the school that I used to teach for twelve years. Actually, this is only the gate (of course) hehehe. This public school is located in the highway of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines-located in the East2 District. Well, it is just different here in the US. I am talking about the school building. I miss the school building in the Philippines though.
