Thanksgiving Pies

Thanksgiving is over and we have left-overs to gobble for the rest of the week. These food goodies are just few of the blessings which members of our family brought for us to partake. We also have a birthday cake for one of my nieces. She just turned 17 and she is so beautiful. We have the tradition of opening her gifts after the meal. She got gifts from all of us and for me, the UGG footwear gift from my sister-in-law was truly awesome. Her parents gave her a sidekick phone too which was very nice.

I forgot to set up the date of my camera that is why it was showing 2005, a bummer huh! Anyway, the celebration was fun and all of us had a good time updating what's new with all of us. We have two huge tables for the grown ups and the teenagers.

Here are some of my favorite pies and the Pecan is my most favorite. I love nuts that's why.

The lemon pie is my husband's favorite. He bought it because he can't find the right recipe for the right taste he wanted.

Everybody must have a pumpkin pie to complete a thankgiving meals huh? I just noticed it.

What a Tiring Day

I was so tired for the whole day doing household chores plus doing my loads of laundry, ( LOL ) just to set the place right for the party later. All the siblings will be coming over for thanksgiving party and I am in-charge of making our place neat. My husband will do all the kitchen stuffs. One brother-in-law can not be here with us because, he lives in Missouri but, we always call him anyway. I will of course show you the preparation as it unfolds. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

I Miss Orlando

I had so much fun while we are living in Orlando last year. I am still a Floridian in my heart though. All our friends were there and I miss the International Airport where I always hang out when my husband was working. I just roam around the area and window shop, LOL. Anyway, my husband worked three times a week so, we have so much time to wander Orlando and Kissimmee area where Disney World is. We have Disney Pass given by Disney, so we can visit all their parks as much as we wanted to.

I told my husband that I would like to go shopping at Belk, Macy's and Sears today. We eventually did and my father-in-law went out with us too. Blast From the Past

I was in my FB account and saw this picture in Sigrid's account. She is one of my close friends back home and we communicate everyday. 
 

Specially now that she finally have her own internet at home. The picture was taken four years ago and I wore dark pink sleeveless. I miss that blouse. I left that in the Phiippines. This picture was taken during the Wedding of Easter. I am still the same huh. How I wish I can pass 100 lbs but, I am still trying. It is really good to see the faces of my friends back home.

In fact, my little friend Emily who is four thought that I am her playmate, LOL. I still wear a small and medium size clothings and in the junior department. I felt nostalgic seeing the faces of my friends that I hang around with. We usually go malling, watch movies, shopping and attend gatherings. Sometimes, we travel to Davao, Camiguin, Cebu and Lanao areas in the Philippines.

Class is Finally Over

My class is finally over today and I am so glad because I am too tired to work and study. Tomorrow is my day off and so, I am ready to blog hop. I really miss blog hopping. Hurricane Ida

According to the weather news, Hurricane Ida was downgraded to a Tropical Storm early this morning. The storm is expected to weaken but the Tropical storm warnings are in effect from Grand Isle, Louisiana to the east of Aucilla River in Florida. At the middle place is where we live and our place is a direct hit. Some of the schools here were already closed early in the morning and some had an early dismissal after lunch.I am just waiting for a phone call from my supervisor if we have to report to work. The storm is expected to have a landfall anytime tonight. We should be expecting sustained winds of 30 to 50 mph and gusts of 60 to 70 mp so; I really wanted to stay home. It really depends on the announcements given by the Gaming Commission here in Mississippi so; we have to wait. In my place though, the storm is not bad at all. The storm band is not as bad as Fay or Gustav last year while I was in Florida. That was scary for me and this storm is nothing in comparison.

Yellow Watermelon

I was just browsing my album and saw this yellow watermelon that we buy at Greenbay, Alabama last Summer. Too bad that it's not the season of watermelon anymore. I tried to keep some seeds of these fruit though hoping I can grow this summer. Our garden last summer has 2 green watermelon but, before the harvest, an animal harvest and ate it. Wheww!

Actually, I was really amazed seeing a yellow watermelon and it was so sweet. I only knew red ones that is why, I couldn't believe when I sliced the fruit and saw this.

Gators

Yesterday, we drove with in Gulf Islands National Seashore area to look for an area where my husband can go fishing. Remember this place I posted last July? I told you guys that you can never trust the water here in Mississippi and also in Florida right? Well, gator is a normal sight whenever there's water.

We live with in this park and I never had the chance to this Nature Way Trail. Maybe because I am not fond of camping or hiking anymore. I had so much hiking in my life when I had my childhood vacation in Camiguin Island, probably, LOL!

Anyway, in this forested area, more than 75% is a marsh land. While looking for a nice place to go fishing, one woman who was doing hiking invited us to see what she was seeing.

I did not bring my camera as usual so, I am using my cellphone again and I took the picture of the gator just floating quietly at the right side of the picture. It's not so clear I know. The gator's mouth touched the riverbanks and you can see the long black body just lay still.

This is the shallow water in the park. Yesterday, in the morning was a low tide so, the gator is very obvious down below.

We didn't go fishing. Instead, we took our lunch at Fort Maurepas Park in Front Beach Boulevard, Ocean Springs.

My Day Goes By Swifly

I wake up early today around four AM and can't get back to sleep. I open my blog and talk to some of my friends from the Philippines through Yahoo IM's. Later at seven, I talk to my cousin Easter and my mom. I was supposed to blog for Izea opportunities and go back to bed but, my husband bugged me to go fishing at the Harbor.
