The Isle in Biloxi is Now Golden Nugget

2012 was the last time we stayed in this hotel. It was called Isle by that time. May 2014, we came back to Biloxi and looking for a nice place to stay for a week and found out that the Isle has a new name, the Golden Nugget. Hubby and I dine in their buffet three times and some servers that we know by face were still there. One actually recognized me.

They change the paint and the name and did some renovations inside the casino. I actually like it now than before. I also noticed that those wasted areas before were re-use for gambling areas. This time, all areas in the hotel and casino were functional. They have shopping area too and opens more boutique type stores inside. Bubba Gump restaurant is also open.

I wonder how their rooms look like now. I wonder if the furnishings and appliances are changed. So far, Golden Nugget is booming in business because every time we went inside, people were in and out the casino. Parking lots were also full all the time. People were checking in. Most gambling machines were occupied and most guests were hanging out longer.

I saw some of my co-employees were working here too. Actually, seen two dealers that I know. They were busy with the guests on their table. Golden Nugget also cut an X sq ft of the buffet space of the buffet and transformed it to a boutique store. Not bad at all.

The food in the Buffet is not as great as before though. The price per person is too high. Before, they have buffet deals and this time, very limited.

So far, I like the new casino and hotel now. I like how they re-arrange the gambling areas. More slot machines and table games too.

Right now, I watch the prices of their hotel rates. I might check in just to see the rooms and how it improves from the old Isle set up.

I kind a hoping that they change the carpet, paint color, decor and bedding's. I hope they lighten the rooms. See the bed above? Do you like it?

I like this coffee area. The coffee maker should go, right?

This bath tub should go as well, LOL.

Well, I will be staying in their hotel for sure. One night is good for me.

By the way, this area over looking the Biloxi Bridge is really nice.

I like the idea of having the terrace. The only thing that I don't like is the AC below. It's truly annoying and loud!

I will show you next time the photo of the new Golden Nugget. Thanks for stopping by.

Flashback Wednesday: The Gulf Coast

Happy Hump Day everyone! Too many work to get done but, too little time. Have you got the same dilemma as I have? If you are a full time mom and dad, I bet you can relate. As much as possible, I am trying to get my blog running good and updated. For Flashback Wednesday, let's visit the Gulf Coast.

I took this photo on the 24th floor of the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino where hubby and I were staying.  This is the city of Biloxi, Mississippi. This is one of the hard hit areas during Hurricane Camille and Katrina but despite of that, they bounced back to normality. Gaming Business is doing great and more or less this place has 8 casinos. If Las Vegas is too far for you, you can check out this place. The food here is great and if you are looking for seafood, this is the right place to explore.

Aside from Beau Rivage Resort, we also stay in the Isle of Capri (see the photo above.). Isle of Capri is now named as Golden Nugget in Biloxi. Under the new management, I still have to check it out. Maybe this Christmas as we spend our Christmas Holiday with family and friends in Ocean Springs. If you happen to visit the Gulf Coast and looking for a place to stay with amazing view by the gulf, you should check out these two: Beau Rivage and Golden Nugget. I totally recommend these two because I stayed there. I love their buffet too. Oh, I can't wait!

Now, this was taken at the balcony of our room in Golden Nugget (Isle). The room we booked was overlooking the bay of Biloxi. It was a pleasant stay. The land mass of the opposite side of the bay is the Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

The picture above is the Bay Bridge on I-90. It connects Biloxi and Ocean Springs. One day, I will be jogging in this place and have breakfast in Golden Nugget, sounds great huh? Well, we actually live in Ocean Springs before and I worked in one of the casinos in the area of Biloxi. Golden Nugget is one of the places that hubby and I eat for breakfast because it's just nearby our place.

The photo above is the boat dock at the back of Golden Nugget. There are shrimp boats in the area too but, mostly they dock at the back of Hard Rock Hotel and casino.

Here we are at the Front Beach in Ocean Springs, taking our lazy time. The Golden Nugget is the building across. Oh by the way next year, we will be moving back to Mississippi to be with our family and relatives. We are in the process of looking at houses. I can't believe that I am actually excited.

The Gulf Coast: Endless Array of Scenic View

The Gulf Coast is blessed with endless array of scenic view. The skies display a spectacular shape of clouds, and wonderful colors. Even when it's gray, it sure lights up my day. So gorgeous down here. Hubby and I would take few moments to enjoy the view before we go inside the Isle Hotel and Casino. I took this picture at the garage.

Spend a Vacation at the Isle Hotel in Biloxi

After spending so many days working on the "TLC" for the new property we bought, I think we need a good vacation right now. I am imagining myself in the Isle Hotel in Biloxi, sitting at the balcony in the room facing the Bay Bridge. What a wonderful scenery ... especially in the morning. Are you planning to get away from the hassle of city life? Go to Biloxi Mississippi and spend a good and relaxing vacation at the Isle Hotel. Remember, this is not only a hotel but, a casino as well. Their slot machines love their guests and you can win good here. My father-in-law won $600 before he spent $20, that's lady luck on his side huh?Biloxi offers beautiful white sand beaches, amazing scenery and many casinos. And wait, here's my favorite...GOOD SEAFOOD. If you go to a boat dock where shrimp boats are, you can buy a $2.50/lb large shrimps (seasonal). Where else can you buy shrimps for that price? Anyway, if you stay in the Isle, take advantage of their buffet. It's really good. Here is the view of the balcony we stayed in. It might be gloomy but hey, look at that view. Sunrise is on that direction. You will surely love it on a clear and sunny day.

Isle of Biloxi Hotel: The Beautiful Sunrise

I remember the moment when I took these pictures. Hubby and I were staying in the Isle hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi. I was excited to see the sunrise so; I open up the balcony french door and just lay in bed, waiting for the rising sun. From the bed, the view was amazing and I was admiring the beauty of the bay. There are few Vietnamese shrimp boats sailin to go shrimping. There were birds flying and the morning was a bit foggy.I know I am seeing a calm sea but, I also wonder what's it like during Hurricane Camille and Katrina.Accross the water is Ocean Springs. Hubby and I always go there for fishing and crabbing. The houses nearby the beach are built in stilts. If you drive down the beach, you will see the remnants of Hurricane Katrina like a concrete stairs that survive.Hurricanes are scary but, it has always been my dream to have a house near the beach so I can enjoy this view every morning.

The Panoramic View of the Bay of Biloxi

I always use my BlackBerry phone in taking pictures. It is just handy and convenient. When I plan for a trip, I also bring my Digital camera but, I seldom use them. While I was taking some pictures from the balcony of the ISLE hotel, I noticed one function from my digital camera. It can capture a Panorama from either left or right direction. I tried it and it just stich the 4 pictures into 0ne. This is the result. We stayed in the ISLE of Biloxi for 3 days (Mardi Gras season) and most of the time, I stayed in the balcony looking at this view. AWESOME huh?

The Isle Hotel in Biloxi Mississippi

I took most of these pictures from the Front Beach of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. When we lived there for 18 months, the Front Beach is our hang-out place. We love driving down here and have a picnic at Fort Maurepas Park. When I was working, my husband and his cousin would go fishing in this area. The land across Front Beach area is the city of Biloxi and the huge building that you see here is the ISLE hotel and casino. The Isle hotel and casino is one of our favorites mainly for the ambiance and food trip. Not only that, this is the favorite casino of my father-in-law where his luck in this casino is unbelievable! Last September, we stayed in one of the rooms on this side facing the bridge that connects Ocean Springs and Biloxi! It was an awesome view! The picture below was taken while we were having a picnic at Fort Maurepas. The arrow shows the Isle Hotel and Casino across the waters. It's huge with 710 hotel rooms that includes 200 suite rooms. The Front Beach is beautiful. If you are planning to visit for the Mardi Gras parade, check out the Isle Hotel and Casino. You will have a good day ahead once you see the beautiful sight of the Gulf view. The sunrise and the sunsets in this place is truly spectacular and enchanting. From the Isle Hotel and Casino, you should check out the Front Beach in Ocean Springs. You will appreciate your awesome stay in the hotel if you visit this place and look at the hotel from this location. You should book early especially when you are visiting for Mardi Gras Season, Christmas Holidays, New Year, Valentines Day, Halloween, Saint Patricks Day, and 4th July. It will be sold out before you knew it! Speaking of Mardi Gras, we will be going there and we will be staying at the ISLE HOTEL AND CASINO. I will see you there, right? Thanks for reading.

The Isle in Biloxi Mississippi

Hubby and I plan to visit Biloxi Mississippi next month for the Mardi Gras Parade in the D'Iberville and Ocean Springs. I have twitter friends who works at the ISLE Hotel and Casino who might give me a room discount. During the Mardi Gras season, all hotels in the area will be fully booked so, we are hoping to find and get a room at lower rate. I took all these pictures last September 201.We had a short vacation in Mississippi and we stayed in the ISLE hotel and Casino. Our room is located on the side facing the bridge which connects the Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Our room has a small balcony and this side of the hotel has the best view to watch the sunrise. There are private yachts and shrimp boats on the docks located around the vicinity of the Isle. The view of the Gulf Coast from our room at the ISLE.The majestic building of the ISLE hotel and casino in Biloxi Mississippi located in this address: 151 Beach Boulevard Biloxi, MS 39530. If you want to check out this hotel, call this #(228) 436-4753.The room with balcony at the ISLE Hotel and Casino. The room is alright and the bedding's are clean. Not really my favorite because the huge air conditioning unit of the hotel was below us and it was really noisy but, my consolation was the outdoor view of the bridge and the Gulf Coast.
I hope on February, we can book a more nicer room than this one. Oh, the ISLE has a WiFi which I'm so grateful compared to BEAU RIVAGE which has limited access, actually I do not have any access at all during our 3-days booking. A huge disappointments!

Isle of Capri in Biloxi

One of the best experiences living in the Gulf Coast area is the chance to enjoy casino hopping. If you love to play the slot machines and play poker in the casino, visit Biloxi in Mississippi. During your stay, take time to visit the beach in Ocean Springs and the Beach Boulevard in Highway 90. If you are in Biloxi on Thursdays, take a food trip to the Isle of Capri and get a 50% discount or 2 for one buffet treat.

The food in Callypsos Buffet is great and affordable. For $8 (price for two already) , you can eat endless shrimps, steaks, cakes and pastries. You will get food satisfaction, good ambiance and great deal. By the way, this place is one of my favorite places to hang out in Biloxi area.

Gulf Coast in Biloxi Area

I need to share this wonderful view taken in Biloxi, Mississippi. This is the Gulf Coast view at the back of The Isle Hotel and Casino in highway 90. I wanted to see what's the view behind the Isle of Capri Casino and here it is, a spectacular scenery.
This is a docking area for shrimping and private boats but, it's under renovation at the moment.
The picture was taken at the garage area of the Isle of Capri. If you want to visit Biloxi, Mississippi, you will surely admire the beauty of the Gulf Coast area. Casino business is booming here in Mississippi. You should come and visit.

By the way, kindly check out doubletake.com if you are looking for exchange recovery for your business.

Back View of the Isle of Capri in Biloxi

As I mentioned in my other blogs, my husband and I had our lunch at the Isle of Capri. We took the time to enjoy the Labor Day Celebration. After the lunch, we went casino hopping and play in Boomtown's slot machines. Of course, I lost including the $10 that the casino gave me as a welcome token. The day ended well even though we went home losing. Well, I gamble a funny amount. You wouldn't know either. I am not a gambler. I just love the food and pictures like this.
The Gulf Coast of Mississippi and that is the Deer Island view from the garage of the Isle of Capri. I am thankful I had a model that loves to listen to my direction, LOL.
The docking area of shrimp boats but, I don't see them here though. I saw only one boat at the far end.
The bridge connecting the city of Biloxi and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. I took the picture on the garage of the Isle which is located at the right side if you are heading to Ocean Springs.
This is a very bare PIER. I do not see any boats really. I do not know if they close this area since Hurricane Katrina. I saw men working and did some restoration of the area though. No wonder that there are no boats in there.
I know the area is so bare, no buildings being constructed yet. But, there is hope for this place. The view is spectatcular but, when there is hurricane, this place is really torn into pieces.
I did make a good shot huh? LOL, I just love this picture that is why I gave a tap to myself. Lighting is not perfect but, I can live with it. Hehehe.
