On Our Roadtrip: Beautiful Mountain

When I did my home renovation back home, I hired a dozen of carpenters and masons. It was only a 90-day project so, they have to finish it with in the allotted time frame. They came from a mountainous region so; when they arrived in my town, all they have in mind was going to the beach. On their free day, they went swimming to the beach and they were so excited like a child when parents announced for a Disney Trip. Oh yes, they were!

Little did I know that when hubby and I traveled from Florida to Missouri, seeing the mountains and driving the gorges along the interstate was more exciting than I thought. I was thinking, wow - such a pleasant sight! Living in the coastal is beautiful but, seeing the mountains was spectacular specially when we don't travel this far and not in the direction towards the Midwest.

Beautiful isn't it? We made a stopover in Tennessee and what a gorgeous place. I love seeing the mountains. Maybe in the next year or two, I told hubby that we should visit Chattanooga.

I was wondering where these trucks are heading and they are too many. Traveling from Florida to Missouri was one of the best road trips that we have. Honestly, we booked a flight to Kansas but, we canceled it. We decided to have a road trip instead. The weather in October was beautiful and we were happy with the decision that we made.

I took the photo above at early morning, outside the hotel where we stayed for the night. I was wondering what's it like on a snowy days here.

It was a foggy morning and it's about 7AM and we were ready to hit the road after breakfast. What a gorgeous day it was! This is the front of the hotel and yes, the hotel was built on a hill. The view is so surreal and I could live here you know. A very peaceful and beautiful place.

Gorgeous Cocoa Beach

You probably heard about Cocoa Beach in Florida huh? Ever wondered what's so special about this place? The waves from the Atlantic, the white sand, the magical view at sunrise, amazing place for moon and star gazing, and the food at the Pier is just deliciously good. Just look at the shoreline below.I took these pictures at the Fishing Pier on a Sunday about 9 AM and people started to crowd the area. On this particular day, a storm is coming but, it never stops people from going to the beach.The Pier has 5 restaurants that serves tasty food, has 4 bars, gift shops, and you will not get bored because there's a live band that entertains everyone for free.If you come here, you should check out Mai Tiki Bar at the edge of the 800 foot long fishing pier. It has an entrance fee but, you will enjoy the view, have a quick drink and just enjoy the breeze from the sea.If you are hungry, food is just an order away. It's affordable and if you love the beach and seafood, this is your place.If you are having a vacation at Disney in Orlando, travel about an hour and you will reach to this beautiful beach. Paradise Island of Bahamas

Bahamas is one of the places that is truly beautiful and has a spectacular view. No wonder that some Hollywood stars consider this place as home in fact, Anna Nicole Smith was buried in the island. Look at the deep blue waters, so clear with birds hovering, prying on fish.Sean Connery, Eddie Murphy, John Travolta, Mariah Carey, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan has a property here as well as Nicholas Cage who owns two properties in Paradise Island and Exuma Chains.There are many more celebrities who owns a private island here. If I am rich, I would surely make this place a summer home.The place is very clean.That is Atlantis in Paradise Island, an island in the Bahamas known before as Hog Island. It is located just off the shore of the city of Nassau ( where I took the picture). Paradise Island is located on the northern edge of the island of New Providence, best known for the sprawling 'Vegas-by-the-sea resort' which is the Atlantis.Paradise Island is connected to the island of New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbour. Walk Tour at Old City

When we were in Old City, hubby and I did our own walk tour. There were tourists that tour the area in groups with a tourist guide. Since we do not want to spend for that, we manage our own tour with a map of the area. Look at the narrow street and the old building, you will really see the charm of this place.

There are so many things to do here aside from a walk tour. You can also rent a Segway if you do not want to walk. I would probably do that on my next visit. Segway is fun!

This is the beautiful back view from Blue Horizon Hotel in Orlando Florida where my friend and her family stayed for a week. If you don't care about the traffic to get in and out of this area and you love this view, you might love this hotel.Their daughter is out of school so, they decided to visit Disney again. They had a blast! Their room has this spectacular view of serenity, far too ironic when you see the front view of the hotel. The traffic is insanely unbearable. Look at the huge pool below. After the scorching day at Disney, this is such an inviting place to come "home" and enjoy a splashing moment to cool down, right? Or just walk towards the lake and just enjoy the cool breeze in the area. My friend really got this place at reasonable price for a week. They have a terrace, a bedroom and place for the kids, a good size living room and a kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry area. Vacation that feels like you are just at home!

Flight

I only made four long flights from Philippines to the US and I tell you, it was an easy 33 hours for me. I enjoyed my 5 stops to huge airports and when I travel alone, that's when I get excited. Catching my flights and searching for my gates are like a labyrinth that challenge my ability in solving real puzzles. Of course, I armed myself with the knowledge of the airports and I got this bragging confidence, just a stubborn attitude that I can do it. So far, I never encountered any problems from the checked-in to the immigration interviews, to baggage claim and finding my gates. And when I am seated in my comfortable space in the plane, taking pictures drag my flight hours fast. What an exciting experience and I can't wait for my next long trip!

I Am in the Philippines

March 27, 2008 was the date I traveled to the US for the first time. It was a bitter sweet moment because I left during the reading of honors in the school where I worked for 12 years. That was a decision of no turning back. I sat in the airport lounge thinking of my future. For almost 3 years, I am back to my beloved homeland and I am so happy.

The experiences of seeing the jeepneys, commuting, the crazy traffic, the lechon, and the faces of my family and friends that I longed so dearly got me so excited. I will be in the Philippines for three months and I will make the most of my stay here. It is good to be home.

Boating Activity

When we were at Destin, Florida lastweek, I was so amazed to seeing so many boats out on the sea. We were on the bridge and as we look over it, people were fishing and swimming on the shallow area at the middle part of the water. Boat like this was a common sight. This boat is actually almost a hundred thousand dollars but, it seemed to me that this is a necessity to other families.
