After the Hurricane

These pictures was taken a year ago while we are coming from Miami Airport. After Hurricane Gustav and Fay had a landfall in Florida, you can see some of the trees bend down. Therewere fallen trees in these area but, since I want to capture the beauty of the sunset, the bad scenery was turned into these beautiful caption.

Life is like this right? After the hurricane, the sun shines and bring back the beauty of nature. That even though we have problems, there is still hope.

Actually, that hurricane made some areas in Florida flooded for months.
Orlando was not really affected, not in my place. But, the heavy rain was really scary.
We had a black out many times on that day so, we move and stay in our friends house.
Anyway, this week Hurricane Bill is still heading towards mainland. I hope it will vanished before it hit the US.

Let Us Travel the Hollywood Studio

This is Hollywood Studio in Florida. Orlando is a place that you need to visit. Though I lived here, I can't get enough of the many attractions that this city has to offer. I was digging to some of my folders here and I still have so many pictures unpublished. So, here are some of the pictures.

Advice: once you get in the gate, get the guide/map to know what are the top pririties you want to visit. There are live stage shows, make sure you plan ahead. With the help of the guide, you can track the schedule of viewing, get the FASTPASS ticket and remember the schedule. Come 15 minutes earlier.

When you visit Disney World, a week is not enough really. Three days? Well, as long as you know how to maximize your time, you can do a lot of things.

The center of hollywood studio. The hat of Mickey. Food is not a problem. They have so many restaurants and the price is just right. Kids meal is also affordable. You can bring your food if you want to save.

Ah!Such an qwesome place indeed!

Statue of Jesus in Divine Mercy Hill

The following pictures were taken at Ulaliman, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental Philippines. The Divine Mercy Statue of Jesus is 50 Ft. tall. The whole property is still under construction. Every month, the Divine Mercy-LBV Group of Gran Europa Village would visit the place and make their 9th day rosary devotion in the chapel of this place.

The little hut at the left side is the little chapel. The people plan to build the big church in this site. The huge statue is the entrance of the church. This statue was built because of donations. -BACK VIEW

The landscape is really beautiful. If there are big religious events like the month of April which is the Feast of Divine Mercy, people are gathered in here. Part of FRONT VIEW

The back view of the statue. The rays from the heart of Jesus: the red and white rays are stairs. When you are standing at the bottom of the statue and facing down, you can see the full view overlooking the sea.

Amy Africa's QLOG

When I visit a blog, I usually look at their profile and learn a little bit about the blogger. It is my way of knowing the author of that blog. If I visit a Website, I go directly to their "About Us" page. It gives me an idea of what their products are and what they have to offer to the market online. But when I visited amyafrica.com today, I cannot find either one of those I mentioned.

I was intrigued by that observation and I look at the header which reads: Amy Africa's QLOG. In my mind, I thought it was clever. And yes, the Website design was clever and written by a clever mind. Why? I just have my interpretation of QLOG, a Website that will answer your inquiries regarding online marketing. The Q means question and LOG means write. Therefore, if you write or submit your questions or inquiries to them, you will get an answer. That is what they are for.

Well, just visit amyafrica.com and see it for yourself. When I read few of the posts, I was entertained because the writer is genuine on her thoughts. We need to read posts that we can relate into. Not just a Website that promise something and cannot provide results. This Website is truly different. If you have queries, quintessential and quibbling, QLOG cares to write answers.

Road Trip Inside Orlando

Everyday, we always make it a point to drive downtown in Orlando or just hanging out in the streets. Sometimes, we drive towards the village that we are not familiar with. This time, we just drive around the city.

No traffic at this time though. Never wished to have a traffic because it would surely make you mad.

Love taking pictures of the road. Even if we travel at 45 mph, it won't stop me from taking a good shot.

We usually drop by in Walgreens, Aldie, Publix and BJ's. These are my favorite stores in Orlando. So, before we head home, I have to roam around the store for a short pick-up of grocery. Boring activity....LOL.

The streets in Orlando are very confusing for me. But, if I have the map, I can find my way.

Railroad crossing. Many accidents happened in this area because of stupid drivers who think that they are superman. Anyway, drive safely and be alert all the time.

Fort Canaveral, Florida

I visited NASA at Fort Canaveral, Florida a year ago. It is just less than two hours drive from Orlando so, we took the time traveling this historic place for half a day. The entrance ticket was less thabn $30 bucks but, an employee who works there gave us four tickets for free. He is the good neighbor of our friend John. There are so much to see in this place. You will love it and if you have kids, they will be amazed of NASA.

That is the bus that will bring us to the tourist area. There were certain stops and all you have to do is enjoy the trip. There are so buildings that display the pictures of Astronauts, display of real rockets flown outside the earth, museums, theatre that shows clips of the voyages and many more.

Everything in the area is fully secured and there are places in the facilities that are off limits to the visitors and tourists. Every area has access for disabled guests and the bus prioritized the boarding of children and disabled first.

That is my daughter-in-law checking on the items for souvenirs back to Spain. There are so many gift shops in this area that sell toys, apparel, food and drinks of the astronauts. Oh, everyday, there is a schedule where real astronauts will have an autograph signing and meet them personally. I did not see one because we were busy in the gift shop buying souvenirs.

This area is the farthest that you can go to see the launching pad of the rocket. Only scientist are allowed in that premises. It is still far. They provide a telescope on this gantry to see the 360 degrees angle of the launching pad.

Huge place ha? Those were the road tracks for the crawler. Crawler is the transportation of the Rocket. It is called crawler because from that building to the launching pad, it would take more than a day to transport the rocket. The two tracks are equivalent to each wheel of the crawler. Gigantic huh?

Traveling A Bit

These pictures were taken a year ago while we travel from one place to another. I just took four of those and share it here. We are in a Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, Florida attending a Wedding. This is my second day in the US. A nice party during reception and they welcome me. West Palm Beach is a very gorgeous place in Florida.

The next picture was taken in Louisiana, New Orleans. This is the famous Saint Louis Cathedral, the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. This is known to be the oldest Cathedral in the US that is continously operating since 1718,1793 and expanded in 1850. We are standing the Jackson Square facing the Mississippi River.

This is the conveyor for crawfish. Awesome! A store in Gulfport, Mississippi known to be the supplier of crawfish and shrimp. If it is a shrimping season, expect that this place sell them for less. The owner invite us to eat as much as we can eat for FREE.LOL. When we go back to Florida, we bought 20lbs for $22.00. Off season, it is $4.50 /pound.

This is the original Cafe' du Monde in the French Quarter Area. This is one of the places that I am dying to visit. The first time that I saw this place was in Food Network Channel while I was in the Philippines. I was influenced by my favorite chef's Rachael Ray, Tyler Florence, Ina Garten, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay and many more. Influenced by the restaurants they featured. Well, I love the French Quarter in New Orleans.

My Fascination With Clouds

These pictures were taken last year when we ( husband and I) went to Tampa International Airport. There was a storm on this day but, the road trip was safe. The weather in Florida changes abruptly from Sunny to Stormy so, these clouds are not really scary. I took few shots fascinated with the cloud formation as usual.

It rained in some parts of Florida but, we never come close to it even after we headed home to Orlando. And beacuse of the weather disturbance, we were not able to visit the nearby place called Clearwater, Florida. That place is truly amazing. We will schedule sometime to really visit that place.

I really enjoy the road trip that we had with my husband. Of course, I am just a passenger stuffing my mouth with foods and fruits..LOL! I usually talk to him most of the time to keep him awake.

The next visit, it will be me who will occupy the driver seat. That is the view of Tampa, Florida.

Let's Go Swimming

Taken a year ago in Orlando, Florida. I was with my family and friends. The couple here were our closest friends. This man was the one who stood as my Father during my wedding day here in Orlando. I missed them terribly and I missed our breakfast schedule every Tuesday. Daughter-in-law and boyfriend who came to visit us and see her father.
We had a tournament here. A basketball on the poolyard...LOL!
