The Atlantis

October 17, 2011- We drove down the Florida Coast towards Miami. It was a gloomy and chilly day but, four of us were excited for our Bahamas Cruising via Norwegian Cruise Line. It was drizzlin' as we park our car in the rental garage near the Miami Port. Then, off to the Port area. There were so many tourists and guests in line systematically and we found our way fast on board the Norwegian Sky. This is Nassau Island of Bahamas and from the ship, this view will welcome your eyes!I was indeed dumbfounded by the blue water and the blue skies of Bahamas. This place is truly enchanting and the wonderful scenery will continue to amazed you every second of the day.From the Port, we took a van and paid $5/person towards Atlantis and I was blown away by its grand and luxurious architectural design. We explore the main hallway inside Atlantis and it was so huge complete with all the amenities: shopping center, movie theatre, restaurants, ballroom and more. We explore the Marina and it was absolutely gorgeous. The locals were charming and friendly and no one approached us to beg for money. On our way back, we decided to take a boat ride which cost only $3/person and it was an amazing experience.The Atlantis is a world class hotel and if you travel to Atlantis this week, the cheapest room rate you can get is $612 up to $2500 a day. So expensive right? Well, I can only stay in Atlantis if Bill Gates or Warren Buffet can provide me a FREE stay in this hotel (*-*) LOL. Not in my lifetime will I ever afford this hotel/resort. Dang! It would be awesome to stay one week and just enjoy the view and waking up with this enchanting scenery. Of course, I can dream can't I? I would love to travel and stay here with my family and that includes my mom and my brother with his family. That's it! I am now wide awake hahahaha. God bless you everyone! Mardi Gras in Ocean Springs is Always Fun

I was checking on some pictures in the folder of my working pc and saw these Mardi Gras photos. I took these photos during a Mardi Gras parade in Ocean Springs, Mississippi in the Government Street. This was a chilly and cold season and though everyone was bundling up, the wind will really get into your bones.
There are so many beads they gave with awesome designs in fact, some of us got collectible beads. One of my cousins told me that when she comes back from her travels, she will provide floats and all of us will participate in giving out beads, sort of thanksgiving for the family. I am looking forward for that event. I remember the first time I went to a Mardi Gras parade. I was hesitant to bring a bag but, when I was there, everyone brought more than one bag for the beads.It feels funny that I was just standing there watching the fun atmosphere but, hesitant to raise my arms asking for beads. When I looked around, everyone was cheering and giving signals to throw 'em some beads. The more you cheered at them, the more they love to give nicer beads.There were two Mardi Gras parade in Ocean Springs that time, one in the morning and the other parade took place in the evening. The evening parade was fun but, the chilly atmosphere was even more brutal but, we enjoyed it. Most of us brought our snuggie even if we already bundled up. This year we will be heading to Mississippi and we will be witnessing the Mardi Gras parade in Biloxi, Ocean Springs and D'Iberville.

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument

My husband and I are planning to visit Saint Augustine again any time soon. I wanted to have a segway experience and visit the spooky building in the old town. The last time we visited this place, we went for an Educational Tour. On our next visit, we plan to explore the town and visit the old church. I took the picture below while I was on top of Castillo de San Marcos National Monument.What an awesome view right? This place has served Saint Augustine as outer defense and showed how mighty it was during the Spanish Empire. The monument was built for 23 years. If only the walls could talk right? See the year it was built.This monument was built using coquina, an indestructible limestone of broken sea shells and coral. The walls remained impenetrable from enemy and even the pounding of violent storms, it stood strong.
Castillo de San Marcos was built to protect and defend the Spain's claim in the New World.
While we were there, I noticed that there were so many tourists who comes in groups.
This is a very interesting place to see and if you happen to visit Florida, you should check out Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. You will surely enjoy it.
We want to book a hotel in the Old town because this place is full of charm and the view along the bay truly amazes me.

When we got out from this place, it was already night time and the whole place was gorgeous. We saw the sunset in the area and it was breathtaking. I highly recommend that you visit this place soon.

Quitting Job

When I first quit my job to stay home with the kids I was bored out of my mind. I had a really hard time adjusting to not being in an office environment and I missed the adult interaction I used to get on a daily basis. Not only that, but I felt really bad no longer bringing in income for our small family. I recently went to the Internet and searched out Sneedville hughesnet which I'm getting at the house next week. I'm going to look for ways to make some extra money while still staying home with the kids because I need something to make me feel like my mind is turning to mush. I know it sounds silly but I'm not really cut out were sitting at home all day watching talk shows and doing load after load of laundry. I know some women really love this lifestyle but for me it's more torture than it is a pleasure. I love my kids but I'm dying to send them to daycare!

Our Rental Property: Efficiency Room

Hello everyone! How was your Chinese New Year celebration? I bet you have many leftover "tikoy" / rice cake in there, would you give me some please? Oh well, mine was spent alright and the day ended with watching a movie using Netflix, nothing fancy (*v*).

Anyway, Hubby and I have been busy looking for a new house in Palm Bay Florida. We bid 6 properties already and so far, we were outbid by other buyers but, one seller accepted our offer. Right now, we are waiting for the response of the sellers bank and I am happy if we get this property because it is located nearby NASA and not in Palm Bay. Anyway, the pictures below are the inside look of our rental income property here in Orlando. It is an efficiency room and it is occupied by a single renter.I love this kitchen because it is white and full of storage, and I consider it big for this efficiency size room. The appliances are new and are included when we bought the property. This place is good for renters who are single or couple with no kids and are working too.
It has a good size bathroom with a bath tub. The door on the right side is the closet. Above the kitchen is an attic which the renter can use for storage.
The door below is the front door and there is a screened porch at the front facing the parking space. The property is on a corner lot, near the exit gate. If the renter has visitors, she can actually entertain them at the front porch. The AC in this property is only the window unit as shown in the picture above. This property is gated and walking distance to the bus stop, grocery stores, restaurants, gym and pharmacy. Now, we are waiting to own another property so we can move out from our condo and have it rented as well. Hoping that 2012 will be a good year for us especially in our rental business.
