The #SpaceShuttle #Atlantis Attraction in #KennedySpaceCenter

The excitement of seeing the Space Shuttle Atlantis up-close is so unreal. The Atlantis is a space shuttle orbiter. It's first flight was in October of 1985 carrying a payload for the US Department of Defense. In July 8, 2011, Atlantis made it's final mission before it retired and made Florida it's final home at the Kennedy Space Center. It made 33 missions and was able to deploy 14 satellites.

Watch out next week for more photos of the inside look of Atlantis.
Atlantis is my favorite attraction at the Kennedy Space Center.

This Spring break, you should visit the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It's about an hour drive from Orlando. I can assure you that you will be delighted to be here. I will be seeing you in Florida soon.

Astronauts Memorial at Kennedy Space Center

I found these photos in one of my folders and I'd like to share these to all of you. If you are planning to visit Florida, spend a day in Kennedy Space Center. It's just an hour away from Orlando and I promise you, you will find this place interesting, educational and inspiring.
You will see this commemorative plaque in the Astronauts Memorial, inside the Kennedy Space Center. This is one of my favorite places to visit and have the time to relax a bit. It has a different atmosphere in here; too solemn is all I can say.

This area might not be the most popular attraction if kids love the adrenalin of games and rides. For those who loves a moment of peace and quiet, this is the place to go to. The best place to contemplate what had happened to the men and women who died during Science mission.

I took this picture before Atlantis called this place , a home. Now? The Atlantis is one of the popular attractions in Kennedy Space Center. You should check out this place soon and bring your children and the whole family. You will love it here. See you soon and thanks for stopping by.

Morning Ride Along the Indian River Lagoon at Merritt Island

Sunday after the mass, hubby took the route towards the NASA Parkway. I was seated at the passenger's seat so; I have an enjoyable time taking interesting photos along the way.

Check this place, you will like it. Oh, if you see a gator, you can't stop for long. Just take a snap of photo and drive. Happy Monday y'all!

The Space Coast

Have you been to the Space Coast? The cities around Kennedy Space Center #KSC where NASA launched Space Shuttles are part of the Space Coast namely: Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge, Cape Canaveral, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Indialantic, and Palm Bay. Most of these cities belong in Brevard County and we live here for more than a year now. Last Sunday, we attended the mass in Merritt Island and heading home, we took the route along NASA Parkway to see if there are wild gators along the canals.

Hubby and I like to take this route because sometimes the dolphins hang out along the Indian River Lagoon. Not only that, the Manatee too. Most of the time, there are boaters on the lagoon, just enjoying the Sunday morning fishing and swimming.

Check out the photos below. This road is called NASA Parkway and we are now heading to Titusville. Far end is a draw bridge. On the right is the Titusville area and on the left, Port Saint John which is part of Cocoa area. Behind us is the Kennedy Space Center. Imagine when the Space Shuttle lifts off from this area, Titusville and Cocoa has the great view to watch it up close and roaring like a thunder. We can see it from our front yard even. Exciting isn't it?

Well, Space Shuttle Program has ended last 2011 so; any Rocket Launch in the Space Coast is coming from the launch pad at SLC-37B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Cape Canaveral area. It is just few minutes from here. It is actually nearby the Cruise terminal in Cape Canaveral.

Now, take a look at the photo above. See the tiny building on the left? Remember that because, I will show you how it looks like up close. That is in Titusville and it is a beautiful Condo property. How I wish I live there.

On this day, we had a nice ride heading home. We saw three dolphins swimming along the Lagoon.

The photo above was taken in NASA Parkway and often times, wild gators are lurking in there. They are harmless if you don't disturb them. Free to watch. If you want to visit the Kennedy Space Center, both sides, you will see the canals. Make sure you watch closely on the water and for sure, you will spot a gator.

They are protected so; there are many of them here. That's the booster display of the Atlantis inside the Kennedy Space Center. We live about 10 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center.

That's all for now folks. Thank you for stopping by here. If you don't see any update in my blog, I am just sick. I love to share my photos to you but, sometimes, I can't face the PC too long. Anyway, check out my other blogs too. Bye now and enjoy your week.

Gorgeous View Along the Indian River

When I'm on my desktop for hours, my husband knows that I was tired in the middle of the day. He would always ask me to take a break. We live about 5 minutes away from Indian River so; we always go there. We take a short road trip along the Indian River Drive. See the photo below? A nice weather, blue skies and calm waters, such a rejuvenating scenic view.

The houses here are super gorgeous and huge with manicured lawn. I will be posting the beautiful houses next time. Thanks for stopping by.

NASA ParkWay West and Space Commerce Way in Merritt Island

My husband and I love to drive this route especially before sunset. This is NASA Parkway West which is also known as NASA Causeway West. The NASA Parkway West crosses the Indian River Lagoon. There is a bascule bridge (drawbridge) which permits boats on the Inter-coastal Waterway to pass through the causeway. About 2 miles from the bridge is the property of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the John F. Kennedy Space Center. See the building at the far end, that is already the entrance of the Kennedy Space Center. I took the picture of the ditch to point the location where, at times wild gators love to sunbathing.

I took this picture right at the intersection of NASA Parkway and Space Commerce Way  which is also known as Government Road. The Merritt Island peninsula is at its widest in this area extending towards Cape Canaveral.

The public cannot go beyond the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. As I have said, that building at the far end. The general public is not permitted beyond this area. A NASA security only permits access to authorized tour buses, Kennedy Space Center staff and supply vehicles only.

There are tour buses allowed to access the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Saturn V Center area. If you visited my blog more often, you already saw the pictures of what I am referring to. Anyway, the photo above was taken along the Space Commerce Way. Again, there are wild gators seen floating on the ditch. If you happen to pass by here, just look closely and for sure, you will see one or two.

I saw a big gator right on this end. I did not take my camera at that time though.

On the exact location above, I saw this floating on the water ^_^

This wild gator probably about 8 or 9 feet. It is definitely bigger than I am. I used the zoom of my camera. I took the photo from inside the car along the road.

This ditch was taken along Space Commerce Way. I saw baby gators swimming here. That's all for now folks. Thanks for stopping by.

Veteran's Memorial Park in Merritt Island

Whole day yesterday hubby and I decided to just drive around  scenic route in our area. We made three stops first, the Veteran's Memorial Park, a boat dock along Port Saint John and Home Depot ... scouting for a lawn mower ^_^ . I took some photos for you dear readers to see what's in Veteran's Memorial Park in Merritt Island.

The Veteran's Memorial Park is located at 400 S Sykes Creek Pkwy Merritt Island, FL 32952. The location is near the Merritt Island Mall and along the banks of Banana River. If you wanted to know the direction by phone, call them at tel #(321) 453-1776 a standby officer will be there to assist you.

I was never been close to this for real. What a humungous thing!

My husband rode to this type of helicopter while he was assigned  in Vietnam.

This memorial park is really nice and peaceful. A good place to remember the heroes of war.

If you happen to visit Cocoa Beach, Meritt Island or Titusville, pay your respect by visiting to this place.

This is located near the Banana River too.

It looks ordinary looking from this point. Once you get out of the car and walk to the park, it is different. It feels peaceful and nice.

Don't forget to check out the memorial park in your area and share the photos as well. God bless everyone!
